"Wow! Best food of the holiday. Stop over on the way home from south of France , this was the first restaurant we came across. Two families, 4 adults for kids 5-8). Arrived late and with no booking. The owner could not have been more helpful. Explained the menu, cooked separate for the kids. We ordered in the entrance bar area, before being shown through to a dining room. I guess seats about 20. Looked like his front room! A few French couples, and one group were already eating. The food , service and welcome was superb. 3 courses of fab home cooked French food for 13 euro each. And I had fillet steak! Can't ask for more. Will definitely revisit!"

"Here on the way to the ferry for lunch. Large space to the parking lot, large covered area to eat in the shade. Good extensive menu, salads, steak, crepe etc. we both choose Crepe, I basic ham, egg and my partner forestiere. We asked for a simple... side salad, although not on the menu, was not a problem for her. The staff was very helpful, efficient and friendly. Would recommend."

"If you want a Sunday lunch in Chateau du Loir, you have but two options, and this is one of them. It is an old-fashioned late Victorian or early Edwardian hotel, refurbished with style, but minamilist, with two light and airy dining rooms, one of...which was given over to a big family get-together on our visit. The food was first-rate, plentiful and served by a small team who were a complete delight. They were assured, confident, and smiled. It is clearly a popular rendezvous, and one can see why. Sensible wiine list, the freshest of produce on the plate. This is how it should be done."
