"We were looking for a simple lunch but what we got was much better. The burgers were amazing. I slightly regretted having chosen an omelette but it was near perfect too. The chips were real home cut chips something I cant remember having in France before. The waffles are also to be recomended, and my father-in-law loved his rhubarb and myrtille crumble."

"When we booked our table, we weren't told that the chef would be off duty that evening. We had checked the menus posted outside, and they looked good. Indeed, the decor is attractive, and the menus include a selection of fish, meat and regional specialities. But when we started to order, the waitress told us that Tuesday wasn't a good day to come. We soon understood why, when we were all asked to change our orders, because the dishes we had originally chosen from the set menus were unavailable, including all the fish dishes. The service was very slow, and one of the steaks had to be sent back as it wasn't cooked as ordered. Fortunately, it was replaced without a quibble. Another steak was served plain instead of as described on the menu. The duck was overcooked, and the potato gratin which 3 of us had was clearly reheated from a previous day, as it tasted dry and stale. We would suggest that the owners of this restaurant should train their staff better, and if only a limited menu is available because the regular chef is absent, this should be made clear to customers at the outset and reflected in the prices."

"Le Grand Bec est un bel hôtel familial, où les propriétaires, en famille, sont au petit soin pour vous satisfaire et partager avec vous conseils et amour de la Vanoise.Les chambres sont assez grandes, décors de bois, et les petites suites donnent au sud-est avec un bon soleil dès le matin.Je vous conseille la 49, avec une bonne hauteur sous toit et un double balcon sud-est sud-ouest.La piscine extérieure est vaste avec un bel espace pour les transats et prendre le soleil. Notez que fin août, à 17h il passe derrière la montagne !Il reste alors la piscine intérieure, elle aussi grande et un espace sauna & jacuzzi bien agréable quand on reviens de randonnée, pour ce détendre.Je vous recommande la demi-pension car le chef prépare des bon petits plats, parfois savoyards, parfois non, mais toujours inventifs et savoureux, et variants tous les jours, aussi en fonction des occasions du jours : un cep géant ramassé en forêt, et hop, une crème brûlée au cep... Miam ! Vous connaissez ?Il est facile de se garer, devant l'hôtel ou juste autour, en sous-sol en hivers.Après, pour les activités de randonnée, il n'y a que l'embarras du choix, directement depuis l'hôtel, sans reprendre sa voiture !Personnellement, j'y reviendrai !Bon séjour :)"

"It was good, but I thought I'd break the can with the raclette that was a little light to my taste. and the waiter. It was gag video. it brings back an ice (which was already forgotten but leaves it on an empty table and leaves to do something else. besides the other beverage forgets spoon order error. but it was good anyway"
