"I really enjoyed the food here, deliciously prepared and professionally presented. Although they had run-out of the widely advertised local beer, I still had a meal and a different local beer which I immensely enjoyed. Very friendly welcome by the maitre D made me fee right at home. I think the quieter times might be great! Recommend a visit."

"WOW this place is amazing!! we are not locals but something said we must come here. me and hubby were not disappointed. first day we had the seafood platter...it was simple and fresh and that is all you need when having seafood. Day 2 we had rump steaks which were cooked to perfection by the kitchen brigade. Chane' our waitress made sure our glasses were always topped up. All round a very good team effort not forgetting the big man Chef Heinrich who made sure my prawn allergy was accommodated. Thank you soooooo much guys"

"A surprisingly good restaurant. It's small and unassuming, hence my surprise. Excellent food, good wines, great service, and all at very affordable prices. The staff is friendly, there are many locals eating here, which is always a good sign. Ask to be seated in the children's area it's brighter. The actual bar is too dark and gloomy for my tastes. All in all, a really positive experience!"

"A surprisingly tranquil and efficient lunch outing with a great view. Service was good, apart from them not serving tap water and up-selling their branded still water. The food was good overall, crumbed mushrooms were terrible, boiled and tasteless. The ribs were excellent, if slightly over cooked. Best parts of the meal were the calamari and mussels. I’ll be back."

"Last minute decision to dip. good decision. beautiful setting. almost on the beach. had a drink and just sat and enjoyed the very relaxing atmosphere. beautiful background music. limited menu, but interesting options. relax. a lot of fun. Edit: so, it appears the gaaaitjie has different menus for different days. we jumped in 2 days later, just to be greeted with a whole different menu! wow, what a menu. had an amazing hake keile plus salat. absolutely delicious! great service! perfect setting. note: lunchtime sitting kitchen last order at 14h00. closes 14h30. kitchen opens later to dinner. only one note from gaaaitjie management: Thursday to Monday the latest seats at 14:00 o'clock, and last food orders are at 14:30 o'clock. then we don't close. afterwards they can still sit and we are open all day from 12:00 to 22:00 for drinks."
