"I've been going to La Vaca on and off for the last three years and have always been impressed by the quality of the meat, garnishes, salads and the unobtrusive but gracious service. Still last Thursday night, celebrating my return with my partner after a stint abroad, was something really to write home about. We ordered a plain 'bife de lomo' with a simple rocket and parmesan salad. The latter was fine but the steak was quite simply the best I've ever tasted: cooked to perfection, seared and lightly charred, with a creamy/buttery texture and taste... As a literary translator I'm accustomed to poetic epiphanes, not culinary ones, but this was simply jaw-dropping. I've lived in Argentina for over a quarter of a century. This was the best steak I've ever tasted."
