"One stop one can take as thy travel to the northeastern part of Alberta is the Iron Horse Cafe, located right by the major Petro Canada gas station. The decor is plain as it gets, complete with local artists' painting for sale on the walls....The classic desert glass case is right out front complete with delicious looking pumpkin pie. The look is deceiving the service is excellent, with Sylvia, one of the main servers at the Iron Horse. She is polite, efficient and courteous. My wife ordered the 10 perogy plate special while I ordered the open Denver. The perogys were a good purchases, complete with onions, bacon bits and sour cream. The open Denver well not only was the open Denver on brown bread ready and nicely prepared, but a healthy order of vegetables (el dante), cold slaw and the best home cut fries in the region, filled the plate. If these meals are not to you liking, the Iron Horse Cafe has an extensive menu with something for everyone. Pricing is some of the best you will find and servings are very generous. All in all, we'd recommend a stretch and a meal at the Iron Horse Cafe."
