"Would give a 4 but beer was not cold. Absolute must in my book. Wings were great. Just as good as any earls I've been to. The kung pow was delicious. Taps missing from one bathroom sink took away from the standard one expects in such a place. Nice patio and staff."

"I reviewed this popular restaurant several years ago and gave it happily four stars. I raved about a delicious steak and my wife's yummy dish. This time I once again had a porterhouse steak hoping for similar culinary experience but was disappointed. Just an ordinary...steak, not even tender nad touch on the well done side although when ordering I emphasised medium rare. For $34.90 you expect a decent cut. My wife's dish, House-made pan fried gnocchi, was again very good. The place was extremely noisy! It was noisy to such a degree that we were unable to hold conversation and therefore left as soon as we finished our meals. Yes, we were there on a Friday and it is the busiest time, but still, the noise contributed significantly to us not enjoying the afternoon. So, perhaps it is time now to explore some other eating places in East Melbourne."

"We have been coming here for around 13 years and always come away looking forward to the next time. We love the food and the service is always amazing. We leave our drinks up to Chris (owner) as his knowledge and passion for wine is spot on. Our children (now adults) have grown up coming here every couple of months as our special restaurant, and its still the one they choose when asked."

"Was part of a large table booking for a celebration. Didn't hold much hope having read reviews. Firstly, the staff were absolutely wonderful! Very patient, always with a genuine smile and very fast service. Only comment is they assumed we knew the ordering process etc, no explanation and left us to flounder at the start.The a la carte all you can eat food itself was a hit and miss. Noodles were probably the worst being really salty and with an unpleasant taste. The raw fish didn't taste very fresh but the platters came out with a good rice ratio. Agadeshi tofu was pleasantly silky but anemic looking. We all loved the tempura! Delicate, not oily and was very light. Miso eggplant was delicious. The octopus balls were a huge let down for some of us as there didn't seem to be any octopus. Lovely batter not oily but seemed like just mashed potato or something. Dumplings were delicious too!3 dessert choices. Vanilla ice-cream, green tea ice-cream and black sesame ice-cream. Vanilla was unlimited but latter 2 restricted to 1 per person. Skip the sickly sweet vanilla but do try the other 2. Delicious! It was fun trying everything out. Better in a group so can have more opportunity to try dishes. There are warnings wastage will be charged. Can ask for items to be for ie. 2 people otherwise they will bring enough for the whole table."

"Service was very good, fresh food at very reasonable prices. I had the “Gringa” with steak and the enchiladas with chicken, sauces were full of taste and the food was very delicious. A “must try” when you come to Whitehorse for a visit. I picked up Dessert from the restaurant today, I tried the flan that was very good. It wasn't too sweet just perfect."

"Had not been out for dinner in a really long time. We were in town for a couple days and finally had the opportunity to go for dinner. G&P has always been one of my favourite restaurants to go to. I ordered the halibut, which came with veggies and rice. The halibut was very over cooked and dry, the veggies had no taste as did the rice. Most disappointing meal I have every had at GP. Not sure if I will be going back. It's not cheap and when u you spend the money you expect a good dinner. The service was very good except when I requested a booth I was told they were not available. The whole time we were in the restaurant nobody occupied the booths so not sure why we were told that we couldn't have one.....felt like I was lied too."
