"I stay in the cape town lodge where this restaurant is located. it is not a mistake to eat here, the starter that they can see on my photos was huge, so make sure they are hungry, or it will not be fun for the amazing steak and chips. the wobble rings were crispy and tasty and run around other wobble rings I had. very good, highly recommended!"

"We went here every day we were in Capetown for breakfast, not because there aren't other good restaurants in the area but because we loved the servers and the atmosphere. Stan greeted us every morning and was great to talk to very friendly and informative. Likie(sp) was a wonderful waiter. The food was amazing, possibly the best mushrooms and tomatoes I've ever had with the classic eggs and bacon. The croissants were great and I loved the spiced chai latte. I loved the outdoor seating and the indoor seating weather dependant. It was really just wonderful."

"What an amazing find! After seeing all the raving reviews, we went in with high expectations—and The Avenue DID NOT disappoint. The service is top-tier, the atmosphere is inviting, the menu is brilliant, and the food—OMG THE FOOD—is some of the best in Cape Town: Large portions, great flavour, fresh, and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the Kingklip and Calamari (and will be back to try the steak). Special thanks to Eric and the team for making our evening great."
