"The service was excellent, all members of the staff that we interacted with were exceptionally polite and courteous. Staff was very knowledgeable of the menus items and what would complement each option. The food was outstanding full of flavour and was at the appropriate temperature when brought to the table."

"Attended a birthday party at Steak & Stein for a family member with approximately 18 people. They set up a "U" shaped table which was great to talk with everyone. The service was excellent, we had a young man who was very attentive and friendly. Had a wonderful time and would consider going here again for a birthday meal."

"We had dinner at Le bistro on Tuesday July 25th.We started out with our server bringing us a loaf bread. It the lowest quality bread I think I've ever had a restaurant. Just not good and butter was most definitely margarine. My husband had the seafood crepe with salad which was very bland and lacked any flavour. We sent it back just to be cooked and seasoned better and it took almost 20 mins.I had the Poulet Mortiz which was extremely dry, dry like sandpaper dry and it was swimming in sauce. Probably because the kitchen knew it was dry and sent it out anyway. On top the not so good food we had to listen to the loudest, off key, karaoke singer belt just destroy classic songs. It was fairly unbearable to listen to. Who does the hiring for entertainment? A couple we know recommended this place, and said it was good. I whole heartedly disagree and will be recommending you avoid it. -JS"

"I'm pretty picky, and have fairly high expectations in any dining establishment that I go to. Our server was very friendly and would check on our table often, making sure our drinks were full, which was great. I'm terrible at remembering names, but she was really stand out to me based on how good she was at her job. Our food came quickly and our starters were all delicious ( the lobster stuffed mushrooms were especially good!) However the mains for 2/4 of us were a let down. When I order my steak medium, that's what I expect to get. 2 of us ordered medium and both of us get extremely rare. Neither of us could finish. The server offered to put them back on the grill but at that point, it was too late. Overall for what you pay, I honestly believe there are many better places in Halifax for a meal. There's nothing awful about Baton Rouge, I just can think of several other places where I can pay the same price and get better quality, and a steak that's cooked correctly."

"Food is consistently delicious, quantity for price is fair, service was friendly and efficient , atmosphere is cozy though music was a bit loud for us (we were there between 730-9pm, and we’re in our late 30s). Overall: always a good choice for a tasty and fairly priced steak dinner"
