"My father and I visited the Farmers yesterday for Sunday Lunch, to see whether the good rumours I had heard recently about the new chef and his food were correct. They are and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food was very, very tasty. The decor has been updated recently and is bang up to date. We did not have to wait long for our food, even though it was pretty busy, with lots of the other tables taken. My Dad and I ordered the same things from the 3 course menu. Like Father like son! We just like the same things. Starters were garlic mushrooms served on a brioche bun with a balsamic style drizzle. It tasted fantastic. We both had the beef for mains. The beef was just how I like it. Falling apart and delicious. Yorkshire and veggies also delicious, though I am not a fan of cauliflower so avoided that. Plenty of gravy for gravy lovers, with a boat supplied for each diner. Pudding was lemon meringue pie which was really nice, but maybe a little sweet for my palate. I'll have the chocolate brownie next time. All the puddings are make in-house. Service was attentive, but not intrusive. All in all, a really great experience, brilliant value for money and heartily recommended."
