"Hong Kong cafes are one of my favorite places to go, especially after a night out! Everything on the menu is affordable and ranges from comfort food to hot desserts to fruit desserts. Not a lot of places on this side of the city are open late, so I love how Kowloon Tong is open until midnight because sometimes...you're just not ready to go home yet! We ordered the Mixed Fruit Sago and Mango Sago, which was $7.50 each as of May 2022. Unfortunately, since I'm allergic to mango, I'm not too sure how the Mango Sago tasted; but the Mixed Fruit Sago was so good! It was sweet and refreshing and I liked how there were a variety of flavors in my bowl due to the mixed fruit. I'm not too sure what milk was used as the base, but for the readers who did not grow up eating Hong Kong desserts, it's definitely NOT whole milk, so don't worry LOL. Outside of this most recent visit, I've been here several times and the service isn't the quickest nor consistent. For example, sometimes my table receives water the moment we sit down and sometimes, our water still hasn't arrived even after we've finished eating. The interior of the place is cozy and simple, which I think fits the vibe and the type of place I'd like to enjoy dessert in. Even in a city like San Francisco, where there's a huge Asian population, I feel like Hong Kong dessert cafes still aren't the most popular thing. They're so underrated and I'd highly encourage everyone to come and try. The desserts are light and not overloaded with sugar, so you don't make you feel bloated, which means it's pretty much a perfect place to end your night. :"

"Tasted pretty good. They have a good selection of pho, rice dishes and vermicelli dishes. Adequate seating and food came out in a timely manner. Soup was a little oily but not sure if that was just my bowl because my friend's bowl didn't seem as oily as mine. Otherwise, the taste was fine."

"Food was mediocre at best. Some of the dishes tasted more Chinese than Vietenemese. The staff was very nice and service fine but food really not too good. We did not have the pho so maybe that would be an item to try here. Decor while rated a 2 in general was very nice by Chinatown standards"

"Been a regular here for years. This venue always presents delicious broth (pho) with its fresh vegetables in affordable price. My go-to-place when I need a nice delicious hot soup. My usual order is no 22, Pho Tai, pho with rare beef, with extra beef on the side. Couple of days ago, I went there, so glad that nothing change or any reduce of quality quantity in the portion. At this time when all groceries price goes up, this place still serves best pho in a right price. Forthe service, long ago 1 server gave attitude in serving, I complained directly to the owner. The owner was nice, apologized fixed the issue right away. After that whenever I come here, never have any issue. This location has a big parkinglot, though it?s shared with other venues. At the end, all I can say, this is the best pho in Elmhurst!"
