"Highlighted as a midnight restaurant opening until 2am, Charcoal Fish has been the place I go quite frequently after badminton : You know, at 11:30ish, most places are closing or closed and I believe that every Chinese restaurant is better than Macca's no matter how bad its food is.<br/ <br/ It tastes good but salty without rice plus its fish is really small in size : <br/ <br/"

"This is the second Thai Riffic I have been too, and once again they did not disappoint. It’s quick, affordable and tasty Thai food in a comfortable setting. The North Sydney branch is linked on the edge of the Greenwood Plaza (mall), right beside the train station. It’s perfectly located for a bite to eat before heading home, or I imagine a really good lunch.The restaurant is BYO, which is always a winner! There’s an IGA with bottle shop on the floor below, just a couple minutes’ walk away. There was no corkage fee when we were there.Staff greeted us politely and were attentive. The food came out super-fast again, and was clearly cooked fresh and to order. We were hungry and wanted some vegetables so we ordered three main meals, using the vegetables main as a shared side dish. I did ask for a small vegetable portion but that wasn’t an option unfortunately. As an actual main I had the tom yum soup and my girlfriend had the pad thai. All were very tasty, and good size. Because we were at a Thai restaurant I felt compelled to try their chicken satay skewers too, these were $3 each which was a bit pricey in my opinion. They were ok, nothing super amazing but certainly not bad. It might sound silly being that we had 1.5 meals each... but we were very full and she didn’t finish a lot of hers! All up the meal was about $35. There was a 15% discount on for the night, and by checking in on Facebook that increased to 20%. So they are certainly open to promotion. For someone who works in North Sydney I certainly suggest Thai Riffic, either for a quick bite or an extended dining experience. Most tables were two or three seaters so if a larger group you should see if they take advance bookings. There is a large table but I imagine it is a hot commodity in busy periods. Oh, and the bonus thing – there are mentos at the counter. Now that’s thoughtful!"
