"Long story short - it took them 40 minutes to tell us they couldn't make poutine and then argued that we should still stay and pay for part of the food.We were in town for a short time and decided to go to dinner with friends - we went on the Saturday night of thanksgiving long weekend and it was not busy at all - one other couple already eating. There were 5 of us and we placed our order of nachos, 2 smoked meat sandwiches, and 2 poutines. I do not eat smoked meat and wanted to try poutine from the Montreal area, which is why we went here. The server took our order and then 40 minutes passed with us wondering if it really takes that long to fill our order. She came over to tell us that they were short on curds so could not fill the poutines. We said how short and she said she could not even make one poutine and offered to put Tex Mex on the fries. At this point we started discussing our options and decided that we would leave and go to another restaurant and maybe we could come back the following day when they could make poutine. She came back with the nachos at which point we informed her that we were leaving since they could not fill the order. She started arguing with us that the order was ready and we could not walk away. Her way of talking got us all annoyed - and we explained that without the poutines only 3 of us would eat and the other two would be sitting there watching the others. Also, if I am eating unhealthy I want the poutine that I came for not fries with tex mex cheese! She continued to argue with us for about 5 minutes saying we could not walk away while we argued back that she should have informed us immediately that poutine would not be available at which point our decision would have been the same. We really think the situation was handled badly and ruined our night. Had they just informed us immediately that they couldn't make the poutine we would have gone elsewhere and returned the following day for poutine. After the way we were argued with I do not feel the need to ever go back."
