"Amazing Sunday Dinner with Family. The mixed roast was excellent and the kids loved their special meal and ice cream. Service was excellent and the team couldn't do enough to ensure we had a relaxed Sunday lunch. The endless pots of Gravy and additional yorkshire puddings were a definite winner."

"A little disappointed by the way this meal went, and also surprised by the limited weekend menu. I ordered the special and that was very Bland, in addition I found a wasp in my food (amongst salad). Although the owner was very apologetic, I can't help, but the feeling the boss or the staff would have reviewed my food before I serve it. In addition, I was offered a free drink, but expected to pay for my meal when I took this, so I didn't get the drink and instead took the money from the meal. It is a shame that it has a beautiful environment and has left me that I do not return in a hurry."

"Staff very friendly and accommodating. Food was very tasty but you did have to wait a long time between courses so maybe they need more staff in the kitchen. Overall tasty food and very reasonable priced but spoilt it buy the very long wait between starter and main course"

"We seriously cannot praise the lovely Staff at the newly taken over Kings Head enough after visiting here last week. They were so warm and welcoming as was the log fire which created a cosy atmosphere and nothing was too much trouble for both of...the lovely girls serving us. They easily accommodated our needs with a smile. The food was an absolute delight and cooked to perfection by a Chef who really knew his onions! We started with Chicken Gougons and the Oriental Pork Belly, both dishes tantalising our taste buds in readiness for our main course. I chose the Fish and Chips which were triple cooked and delicious. The batter which coated the succulent white haddock was light and crispy, exactly how I like it and the salad accompanying my meal was seasoned and dressed perfectly. Thank you Chef. My Husband chose the Pork Belly which was a melt in the mouth delight with the crispiest of crackling and fresh vegetables to accompany it. We opted to skip dessert and ordered a Coffee which was served with a lovely homemade shortbread biscuit. An unexpected but very nice touch. Eating in such a relaxing and friendly environment enhanced the enjoyment of such a superb lunch and we can't wait to visit here again. We would like to take this opportunity to wish the new Proprietors every success and would highly recommend anyone to book a meal here soon. You will not be disappointed."

"We have been coming here once a month for just over a year as a girls get together catch up. We are aware of the early closing of 10pm. Food was excellent as usual. But the issue we had was being constantly chased by staff, on this occasion, one of our party was a little late for our booked time of 7.30pm. Staff came over and said we needed to order soon as kitchen was closing this was 7.40. At 9.10 staff came and asked us to pay as till was closing. At 9.30pm we were basically told to leave as they were closing. We were outside in the car park at 9.40pm when all the staff left, the doors were locked and the car park lights turned off, leaving us in total darkness. On getting home I checked the opening times and they still stated10pm as closing. We were a little disapointed, as we felt our night out had been tainted by the pressure to hurry up our evening. We would have spent more on further drinks and maybe desserts, had we not been chased out the door. Dietary restrictions: We come here because one of our group requires a gluten free diet"
