"We had Half Baked Co. make our wedding cake and desserts. The #1 reason we chose them was because their cakes taste amazing. We were hunting for a chocolate cake that’s to die for, and we found one in their Death By Chocolate. Not too sweet and decadently chocolatey. We also had a vanilla and lavender tier of cake that was ALSO amazing. We asked for a 3-tier cake with a bit of a watercolor effect as decoration, and it came out absolutely gorgeous. The planning process was really smooth. Natalie helped us plan the desserts for the right number of people and they were easily able to match the colors of our wedding. Along with the wedding cake, we ordered donuts (which were a HUGE hit), cookies and macaroons. Everything was really delicious and beautiful. The cake and desserts were delivered on time on the day of the wedding and we couldn’t be happier with the bakery we chose. Would highly recommend them to anyone looking for cake and/or desserts for their event."

"Tried out this bakery near my house in Lakeview. Since pandan is the flavor from my country, I decided to try the Buko Pandan cake. The cake is soft and fluffy but there is no taste of Pandan in there. So please find the real Pandan leaves or get some authentic Pandan essence and make your Buko Pandan real Pandan cake. Reduce the amount of coconut inside the cake as well. Also $9 for a slice of cake ? too pricey. Probably won’t be coming back often."

"Who doesn't love cupcakes?! Okay...well funnily usually me but, Cupcake á la Mode holds a special sugary spot in my heart. I grew up anticipating Monday's where the magical confections at the nearby Country Club Plaza store would go on discount and I could start my week with a sweet treat. The seasonal flavors are always switching but, there are also tried and true classics like the Stuffed French Toast cupcake. This cupcake never disappoints with the soft luscious vanilla cake and the buttery cinnamon melding together with rich frosting, totally decadent but worth the calories for sure. Right now the pumpkin cheesecake cupcake is calling my name, call me a basic witch but, pumpkin desserts always warm me up on the inside before even taking a bite and the creamy pumpkin mixed with the tangy flavors of cheesecake sounds to die for. I would like to mention that I am a firm believer in vanilla over chocolate (call me basic again why don't you! but, honestly, even my mother who usually is the yin to my yang or in this case, the chocolate to my vanilla, prefers the yellow or vanilla based cupcakes because they just seem more moist. Also, just a note, these cupcakes are really best consumed on the day they are bought, they can be brought back to life a day or maybe two after purchasing with a little help of the microwave (only about 10 sec people, don't go overboard and turn your buttercream into pure butter! but, there is nothing like a fresh cupcake...á la mode or not.This boutique cupcake shop may not be the trendiest dessert concept around nonetheless, it has been around for over a decade and that means something. What does it mean? Well one can only assume it means the people like cupcakes and in particular Cupcakes á la Mode, I have been and will continue to be a part of their loyal fanbase hopefully for another decade to come...yum!"

"I don’t care what you say about Sprinkles Cupcakes, it doesn’t hold a candle to Vanilla Bake Shop. My personal favorite: The chocolate cupcake with mocha frosting. Avoid the “birthday cupcake,” which is a boring vanilla cake with vanilla frosting. The blackberry cupcake, with puplish berry-flavored frosting, is to die for. The best part: They will sell you three mini cupcakes for only about five bucks, which means you can try three flavors if you’re sharing with a friend, rather than having to scarf down an entire cupcake for the same price."

"I wanted a custom cake and this was the place I chose. Their selection is vast and I was able to find what I was looking for. I paid half the cake (meant to pay the whole cake) and they had it ready the day I was looking to pick up. If you have to call, make sure to leave a voice mail. They are always busy and for good reason. Cake was fantastic!"
