"We got seated straight away but got given no menus? The man walked away and didn’t come back to our table which was strange. Then after sitting for 15 minutes a lady behind the counter asked us if we had been served I said no. Also while we were waiting there was three members of staff talking and drinking milkshakes at the counter. When we eventually got served we got given our water twice for some reason? When the waiter brought over my milkshake he called it the wrong thing so it got sent back. Then he came over again with the same tray and said sorry I said the wrong flavour. So after we finished our dessert it took another 15 minutes for them to come over. We asked for the bill and I said I’ll pay by card. So waited again as the waiter was talking to other staff again for ages. Then he started serving other tables after he said he would be back in a moment. Then another lady came over and she was helpful she said have you paid and I said no I’m still waiting on the card machine. She brought it over straight away which was the only fast thing that happened. The dessert was good and the place is very nice but the staff need to communicate more."

"The calamari rings were fresh and delicious. Our main was Linguini Marinara which was cooked after we finished the entree and minestrone soup. In the main, the scallops, calamari strips and prawns were very good but the mussels were a bit tiny. Wood fireplace and nice deco makes a good atmosphere."

"Went to la grotte last night to have supper. Ordered a hamburger classic very well done and half a bottle of house wine. The burger was burned on the outside and raw inside. The sweet potato fries were charged $3 extra without the waitress even mentioning it. The house wine was charged the same price as a bottle of wine. I was charged for the crappy food $42 plus tax. When I mentioned that the food was not up to my expectation the only argument the stupid waitress gave was I will see take note of that for next time. Next time? Never again. Don't make my mistake and go spend your money on decent food elsewhere."

"Excellent! Best new breakfast restaurant in ages. Eggs and Fruit is a new breakfast and lunch restaurant in south London. We've been waiting for it to open for some time, and finally got the chance to try it on the Labour Day weekend. First impressions; excellent: fresh, clean and bright interior, comfortable seating, friendly staff and an attractive menu. The main fare is breakfast, and all breakfast combinations feature fruit a similar concept to Cora's, though in our opinion Eggs and Fruit is preferable: it represents better value, is less fussy and you're not queuing for 45 minutes before you get a table!<br/ <br/ I had a combo containing eggs, breakfast potatoes, meat and toast with a crepe on the side strawberries and cream was my choice, though this combo is also available with mixed fruit, banana and hazelnut chocolate, or chocolate chips. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the potatoes tasty, the toast served piping hot in a basket with preserves, and the crepe was deliciously fresh and tasty (I opted for a meatless breakfast). My partner's omelette was also excellent, and served with watermelon and orange segments.<br/ <br/ Service was friendly and attentive; our server was very accommodating to my request for no meat and offered a choice of extra potatoes or fruit instead.<br/ <br/ $9.99 for my crepe combo and $8.99 for my partner's omelette makes this a very reasonably priced option for a high quality, delicious breakfast that's more than comparable to something far more expensive. We will definitely be back!"
