"Slept on this place, since I only remembered it as Nino's Brazilian pizza for a number of years. Glad I stopped in, since they're making super fresh tacos and have a wide selection of Mexican restaurant, and street food, not expensive, with a great atmosphere to hide out from the hustle and bustle.Tacos are a little more on the expensive side, but freshness and well done. Recipes make up for the cost. Highly recommended."

"Cancun offers a good balance of quality and quantity of food. The burritos are the cornerstone of the place – would recommend the chicken for non-adventurous people, and either a mole or a carne asada if you want to try something else. The chicken salad was very fresh and good, and they have rotating specialties that can be very good (plate with veg tamales thingys with a spicy red meat sauce, rice, beans and cactus were a repetition choice for me). The great attraction is the Salsa Bar. My personal favorite was the pumped salsa, but I know many people rave over the fruit of Salsas (strawberry, mango, pineapple). The hot salsas are HOT. No, this is not “authentic” mexican (so tell my friends who are Mexican food snobs) and without the salsa that Burritos do not stand out. But the Salsas are what people come back, and frankly, the Burrito was just a means to an end what I repair my pumpkin salsa for the week. The room is OK, but it is overcrowded and loud during the busy times. It can be very busy and unhappy when the high school children for lunch at the nearby Berkeley High. No free parking, although a paying city ground right next door. Prices are fine although probably high (can be $1-2 more per Burrito) compared to average mamma and pop Mexican places. But just a few minutes walk from the west side of Cal Campus, this was the best by far."

"Juan's is our favorite restaurant, and not just in Berkeley. Why? It's because good fresh homemade authentic Mexican food is so hard to find these days. Juans pays attention to every part of their delicious food. Don't believe me?Consider something as simple as black beans. I thought stupidly! that they just used large size cans of black beans. Or maybe also added some seasonings after perhaps. But Juan's makes them the old fashioned way from scratch starting with dried beans and then slow cooking them for hours with garlic and their own concoction of special herbs including epazote. Say what? Apparently epazote is used in everyday cooking in the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca and the Yucatan Peninsula and has notes of oregano, anise, citrus and mint. Epazote is also purported to reduce the gas and bloating experienced by many when eating beans and cruciferous vegetables. How many other restaurants would think of slow cooking with an ingredient as tasty and beneficial as this aromatic herb to their black beans?! These loving details run through all of their cooking from the chili rellenos with lots of egg to the garlic shrimp with tons of garlic. Even their chips are homemade with both corn and flour chips. But be sure to get a side order of guacamole made from ripe avocados. And of course you get corn and flour tortillas with every meal. Lastly, we've never been to Juans without getting a pitcher of blended margaritas. These are wine margaritas, since Juan's only can serve beer and wine but we like the tangy lime flavor much better. "Wow! What can I say? Much! I've been enjoying Cancun Sabor Mexicano Restaurant in Berkeley California for over 22 years! And they still have all the same menu items they always had and more. But coming to my main point is my recognition for her incredible I believe best taco in the Bay Area her Crispy Taco. I enjoy the Carne Asada, Carnitas and Chorizo types myself. They are not only super delicious with the highest quality, but also contain a generous part of the ingredients. Finally, they have excellent tortilla chips with an open salsa bar that is fresh and homemade from mild to extremely spicy. Even if you frescas their watermelon and strawberry flavors are sweet and cannot be beaten! I really hope that Cancun will remain in business in the coming days and I intend to continue to promote her restaurant. Thin menu prices are a bit high, but with the quality and the generous portions you receive, clean in the dining area and outside the terrace and excellent service and fine restaurant atmosphere it is absolutely worth it, it is the price, how is the food endurance also!"
