"While Riptide fully embraces the “fun” approach to the atmosphere, do not think this is a bad thing in which the food is affected. Huge pink plates of salmon were shattered over a cutting board, just waiting to be artistically prepared. The tuna was deep ruby red as it should be, and had good solid texture. When I hit my Sapporo, a new role came that was not wrapped in rice, but carved cucumber strips. The contrast between the red tuna and the green cucumber is really emerging, and there are good pictures. I am usually more in fish than rolls, but the cucumber packaging was a nice alternative to rice. The vegetables were watery and crisp, and it felt even lighter than sushi usually. I will definitely get that back. The message to take away is that you have a great time in Riptide. Try to get a place on a Friday or Saturday – there will be an explosion. Drink something, order adventurous things, and you will not be disappointed. It is not really a Japanese restaurant, (they have burgers and other standard types of things), but a night spot where you can get some great food when you are cool with the fact that it is their own interpretation."

"Food was ok. Sea bass not cooked evenly and spinach had the same issue. Some was wilted â others raw. Sauce on some parts, but not all. Soup was too salty. Server needs to not hold the cups so high up when serving. Not only is there a pandemic... no one ever would want to put their lips on something a stranger has his hands all over. Use common sense."

"From outside, SASHIMI is what you would expect from any sushi house in the stripe mall. A forgotten name, a cheerful logo and the square shots of a nail salon, but on the inside, SASHIMI can be the happiest place on earth (ok ok... the 2nd happiest on earth ...better? If you go in, even the girls welcome you. I assume that they are regular, that “the tongue-n-cheek approach of the very enthusiastic greeting given by the hostess and sushi cuisine. Why also the ceiling look like Space Mountain with the black color and glittering glitter. Then there are the polaroids, hundreds of smiling faces of past guests decorating the wall. When you start reading the captions, how many birthdays and anniversary are celebrated here, you must believe that this tiny place of Vons is special. I was here a handful of time and SASHIMI was on my list for the freshest fish in the city. I often wonder if they had a special Purveyor that other sushi restaurants were not aware. My favorite role is on her boss Specialty Menu, the Tuna Takaki. Your topping of cilantro onion along with a side of ponzu sauce makes this role delicately spicy. When SASHIMI first opened a few years back, the spicy tuna rolls were more interactive, as the spicy Mayo concoction was left outside the roll and you had to immerse each cut on your wish. Today, the common tap sauce was instead mixed with the tuna. Boring. I'm not a fan of Philly roles on other sushi gestures just because most times I recognize a smoky aftertaste, but here I give them again cudos for the clean fresh taste of their salmon. If you even come for a togo order, they will serve you water and warm endaname. Good times... good times"
