"Wonderful food. Elegantly presented sashimi, sushi, takoyaki, gyoza, udon, don buri (bowls of food), and other Japanese options. Many types of sushi rolls. Overall, there are not only more than standard Japanese fare, but it is also delicious, high quality and beautifully presented. Many different Sakes, mixed drinks and Japanese beers along with international Gin, Bourbon, Tequila, Rum options. You even have Japanese sodapop. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful decor with exquisite hand-painted scenes. I was there before and could not wait to go back for seconds to show my adult son who also, this day enjoyed his food immensely."

"A small hole in the wall in a striped mall. My place! Very good food, much of it and the price was right. Well personalized and excellent service. Will definitely return. Solid 4?"

"This poke place gets good reviews, but being one of only two customers there during lunch time (when most of the other restaurants in the area were full) should have been a red flag that PokeDoke just isn't very good. I was not very impressed with my poke bowl: the ahi tuna I ordered was so/so quality (not properly trimmed so there were tendons in it), the topping selection was just ok (most poke places I've visited have twice as many toppings), and the sauces were not very flavorful. Also, the size of my bowl was pretty small for the price (and $20 is a lot to pay for a poke bowl, even a larger sized one). The staff was fast and friendly, but otherwise, I would not suggest getting a poke bowl at this restaurant."

"Pros: really good pizza and sushi, great cocktails. Nice decor, clean. Cons: The creative dishes of the cook miss the brand with strange flavor combinations and small overpriced portions. Unfortunately, his attitude is also bad. Hopefully, owners will listen to feedback and change the menu because STL really needs a successful kosher restaurant."

"When I first walked into Ichiban Sushi Bar, I was immediately greeted by a homely, humble atmosphere. Japanese fans lined the ceiling while a single waitress bustled around the small dining room of 15 tables. After deliberating over the lengthy maki menu (and I mean deliberating! and deciding on the mango shrimp tempura, the crazy roll, the rainbow roll, and the salmon avocado roll, I learned that the young waitress taking my order was the sushi chef’s daughter, while the other older waitress was the chef’s wife. The traditional Japanese way of sushi preparation proved to be successful the sushi I experienced was nothing short of the best sushi I had ever had. The thick slices of fish on the rainbow roll were mouthwateringly fresh, exposing hidden flavors as they melted in my mouth. The crab mixture was white and savory, rather than the dry stringy red “supermarket” style of crab found in other sushi restaurants like Wasabi. The rice was the perfect texture not too hard but not gummy or soft. The mango shrimp tempura quickly became one of my favorite rolls, as the freshly fried shrimp blended perfectly with the sweet mango, which did not have the sour after taste found in many frozen mango slices. The salmon avocado roll further proved the superiority of Ichiban’s fish. The thick slices of avocado seemed perfectly ripe as well, a rare occurrence at other sushi restaurants in Saint Louis (mainly Wasabi . I think the clear winner of the four rolls was the crazy roll. This roll was so stuffed that I had to take two bites to finish each piece. What’s even more crazy than the crazy roll itself? It had the ability to actually make me full from a sushi meal, which is something I never thought possible until Ichiban. So what did I learn from this experience? Your favorite sushi restaurant is making sushi wrong. This is how sushi is supposed to be: thick slices of fresh fish, fresh ingredients, and stuffed rolls."

"Blk Mkt Eats is fantastic! If you're craving sushi, but want a little more bang for your buck this is the place to go. I highly recommend and usually order the OG Fire Salmon Burrito, but decided to try a bowl this time which was the best of both worlds with both salmon and shrimp tempura. The fish always tastes fresh and the sauces are even more delicious. Can't wait until their Maplewood location is open, so I can satisfy my sushi burrito cravings more often!"

"The food was very good, however there was very little room to make changes to menu items and the noodle bowl we ordered without onions, carrots and cabbage came with all three minus the opposite ingredients. The Lobster Spring roll and sushi were excellent. I would say our server was a little defensive. We really had no complaints despite the inability to switch things up. A solid 4 and easily a 5 if they become a little more flexible. However the entrance is in a mall. That’s hard to deny from an atmosphere perspective. Inside is very good."
