"Still has the touch. Great meals at reasonable prices. The only reason it’s a 4 and not a 5 is that we waited 30 mins for the desert after asking for it twice. When the desert Pavlova arrived part of the Pavlova was still a little frozen."

"Dumpling king has a huge menu. But as the name suggests they specialise in dumplings. Always a solid place to go after work or a few drinks when you're in Hawthorn. Forgo all the fancy chinese dishes and just do dumplings for the best value for money."

"Went here for lunch and got large noodles with beef and black bean sauce as well as sweet and sour pork. The serving size was generous and for $10.50 you can't go wrong. I really loved the pork because everywhere else I get it from is too sweet and after a while gets sickly but this place has the best sweet and sour I pork in my opinion."

"When this place was opening I saw that their signature dish was sweet and sour pork. My Dad loves sweet and sour so I knew he would want to come here. We went tonight and it was quiet at first; just us and some friends of the owners but it got busy later. <br/ <br/ We ordered the sweet and sour pork of course and to our surprise it was our least favourite dish. I liked that it wasn’t an “Aussie sweet and sour pork” but more like an authentic type. The sauce was delicious with no pineapple in sight. Our issue with this dish was that it was too much batter and not enough pork. We also ordered the potato, eggplant and capsicum with gravy, I was a bit worried when I ordered this that it would be an egg gravy which I find bland. I was happy that it was a brown flavoursome gravy, I really loved the potatoes in this dish. Mum ordered the cumin beef which was probably my favourite dish of the night. It had a very nice cumin flavour and it was a little spicy. I really liked the onions in this dish too. We had rice with these dishes which was nice. They gave us a sample of the spring onion bread/pancakes (whatever you call them), it was nice but I’d prefer to eat rice with the meals because the meals are oily and the rice cuts through it. <br/ <br/ The people working here were very friendly and welcoming. I’m noticing that a lot of the newer restaurants opening in Box Hill are being run by friendlier people which is a great change. The people here are from Harbin (North of China, near Russia). I forgot to ask but I assume the food is from Harbin as well. The owners friends were also eating in the restaurant which gave it a nice atmosphere. I did find the food a bit expensive but I’d still come back and try other dishes. <br/"

"My daughter and I love dumplings and this is our ‘go to’ place at Eastland Shopping Centre. I’ve tried a few other meals here but the dumplings are by far our favourite. You can choose from steamed or fried. Vegetable, pork or beef. We bought some of each today and decided the pork was our number one choice unanimously. She liked the beef as second choice, mine was the vegetable as second choice. <br/>Staff are helpful and feet efficient during the busy periods. <br/>Kid friendly and wheelchair accessible. Being in the food court, there are toilets nearby. Good parking at Eastland."
