"We passed by this place and ordered a takeaway. However, the manager flatly refused to accept payment with Scottish Banknotes. When I explained to him that they are legal tender in the UK having Sterling clearly printed on them and it is illegal to decline...them he simply sneered. Having now read some of the reviews I realise I was spared from the food offered by this restaurant!"

"Given that the Orpington and Chelsfield area does have a quite a choice for take away Indian food, the competition is quite fierce. I’m fans a few other places nearby but a common fault is that of consistency: you have a great experience then you have a not so good or bad experience from the same place that was good before ? Whilst Saffron may not be ‘the best’ it’s very good and more importantly: Consistent ! I’m a fan of the Chicken Dansak, I think it’s a good measure of a curry house to see how they produce this classic dish. Saffron do it very well, a sweet and sour sauce with lentil and soft, fresh chicken pieces, not a large amount of chicken but what’s there is perfectly tender and with plenty of well balanced sauce. Pilau rice, is aromatic with kewra water essence and individual rice grains are firm and separate. The big test of a takeaway and one of the hardest to get right: Onion bhaji often, these are a total let down from takeaways being soggy or often microwaved ...or badly packed so they sweat and become moist ..Not so with Saffron their onion bhaji are crisp and crunchy, fresh and exactly as I like them Simple things that I like and for me these things and the fact that Saffron is consistent is why I rate it as highly as I do. (Reading other peoples reviews where people give it 1 star because they managed to spill/break/drop their order is a bit pathetic and not really about the food and service but about their bad luck come on! that’s not honest nor fair"

"Good friendly service, nice food, good value Booked a table for two for my girlfriend and myself. On arrival got a friendly greeting and were shown to our table. Service was prompt, not rushed Food was very nice, I recommend the mixed hors d'ouevre starter for I had the beef in teriyaki sauce as a main, my gf the sweet and sour pork. Both were very tasty Ambiance was nice, some restaurants can get way too loud when they're busy but this was fine, it's good to find a restaurant you can converse in without having to raise your voice!"

"Just ordered yesterday, the customer service was great very polite lady and my order was delivered promptly. The soup and salt and peppered starters I ordered were delicious and aromatic duck wasn’t too oily. Will be ordering again!"
