"Don’t even know where to start. An absolute waste of time visiting this place. After considering all the places we can go for food and karaoke in Manchester to celebrate Xmas and New Years we finally decided to go to Han dynasty after reading their reviews. How wrong was I! To say the least customer service was terrible! Staff was extremely rude and unprofessional. Food was standard and not great at all, the karaoke system didnt even work most of the time! More importantly they had loads of hidden costs unexplained! The whole experience was utterly terrible and I wouldn’t even recommend this to my worst enemy! Absolute waste of money! Manager was nowhere to seen like he’s vanished from the face of earth! We’ve had enough and asked for the bill. The normal rule around Chinatown for karaoke is that you select the size of the room and just pay for that karaoke fee, food and drinks have always been inclusive and that there’s no additional charge unless your food order goes over the standard charge. This bill we received added an extra £188 for the large karaoke room! making it almost £400 to the final bill! unbelievable! We were in shock and asked to speak to a manager. We wanted an explanation on how this bill was calculated because no way are we giving in to this ridiculous inflation just because it’s Christmas. We complained, we questioned and we fought and defended ourselves! The restaurant explained the karaoke service downstairs have always been a separate business to the restaurant upstairs and charges have always been separate! We argued saying it’s never been like that! And we always go karaoke! We asked since when? And how would people know if they didn’t tell them? They said it’s been over a couple of months now and all the menus and signs clearly states that! We looked at the menu, none stated! We looked at the entrance and the so called signs! Nothing to prewarn customers of this ridiculous arrangment! We said we’ve not been informed correctly and argue that It’s just their way of charging customers extra money when they least expect it and especially when it Xmas! If you don’t call this fraud I don’t know what this is then! I’m surprised people still come to this place! We argued, we explained, we tried to justify why we won’t be paying this amount because there’s no reason to and we was never, not at any point during the whole time told that the food was to be paid separate from the karaoke. Had we knew we wouldnt have come. We rung in and booked the room, they didn’t inform us of this. We arrived and they gave us the menus, they didn’t explain this. We asked for the menus a dozen times and we kept tab of how much we spent, we asked them how much are we on, they came back and every time we just said we made it clear we didn’t wanted to go over the base room rate. nothing was mentioned to us about the fee split at all! No attempt whatsoever! There was nothing around the place, nothing around their websites about this. It’s just a con, trying to gobble up all the innocent students and victims hard earned money. they even have the decency to raise their voice and tell us there’s nothing they can do and expect us to pay the full amount! Absolute rubbish! It literally felt like world war 100, just without the guns and cannons! they weren’t prepared to give in and neither were we! We fought hard and in the end after wasting so much time and breath, we settled and paid them just half of that bill! As we packed up we heard the people from the other rooms was also complaining about their bill. I’m not usually one to submit terrible reviews however to protect innocent victims going through the same horrific experience we did, it’s just the right thing to do to warn you! Would give them 0 if I can but they won’t allow. They’re lucky I didn’t sue them for post traumatic stress disorder! If I ever feel scared of going karaoke again, they can expect a letter from me asking for compensation! Well done Han dynasty for your awful services, you’ve lost yourself a great regular! I hope for the sake of everyone you carefully self reflect on how your restaurant operates and make significant changes. It’s been an expensive lesson but mark my words, if you carry on like this.. not sure how much customers you’d have left in the coming New Years..... no doubt we won’t be back after our traumatic experience! I just hope more victims like us would stand up more and make their voice heard!"

"I order an udon noodle with spareribs. Wow the takeaway box was too heavy makes me dribble but when I open it it just looks disgustig. The taste is so bland and it doesnt looks like a food for a human being. I was hungry...that time and have no choice but to eat the spareribs and the bits of chicken in the noodles. The first time I have ever taste an asian cuisine how they do it. If you’re not a regular you might find it nice but not when you taste it. Would definitely not coming back on that place at all."

"TL;DR Great food and great atmosphere. After many years in Manchester we finally followed everyone's recommendations and came here and are glad we did. We debated booking a table but the website seemed to discourage it for small groups, promising that they keep half their tables for walk ins. We came early on a Saturday evening and despite it being busy we were seated quickly. Our food choices were pretty unoriginal poppadoms and chutneys to start which were very nice. The mint yoghurt was much thicker than we've had elsewhere and better for it. For our mains I had a jalfrezi which was delicious and had lots of big pieces of chicken in. Sparky went for a lamb dish which he said melted in the mouth. We both had rice and naan alongside and the naans were delicious. Service was prompt and friendly. Prices were reasonable all in all, a great spot and one we'd happily come back to again and again."
