"We did the 12 course tasting menu. Every one of the courses were cold, room temperature or freeze dried. There was definitely a lot of culinary skills shown and cool gadgets used. The dishes were plated beautifully and artfully. But we left disappointed there were no hot dishes. We tried cat bird seat a couple months ago and it was a similar set up with tasting menu. But we were happier at catbird with overall menu. And it still felt like we were going through the normal stages of a meal. Appetizer, salad, main dish, dessert. Each of the dishes here were again cold and extremely artful but not as satisfying in the ”story line” if you will I was harder to follow. We were also disappointed that on two of the courses the waiter asked us to keep our spoon for the next dish. Our spoons were covered in sauce from the previous dish and he wanted us to use them for the next one. This is completely unacceptable. Our total bill was almost $400 and we were having to clean off our own spoons between courses. I will say the cocktails were well-crafted and delicious. That was the most enjoyable part of the evening. I think we are done with tasting menus at the chef‘s table for a while. At least until we hear about a place that has both delicious food and exceptional interaction with the staff."
