"My rating is based mostly on service and ambiance. Service was pretty slow all around, and out of 4 people drinking coffee, when one person asked for more coffee they were brought another cup and the rest of us sat with empty cups. We took some friends here as their first time to a McMenamins- For ambiance I had really expected more from McMenamins- all of the other locations I?ve been too have a bright and eclectic feel to them- but the seating area for dining in this place was super dark with orange lighting, giving it a dungeon-like feel even during a rainy day/evening. I get that low light is it?s own trendy thing, but I think it was dialed up too much or not done very well here. It seems more to cover that there isn?t a lot that is visually appealing at this location. There were a few artsy light fixtures in the bar area, which doesn?t help the general seating area, and the only place where there was some light was over the pool tables. Music was really too loud for a restaurant and very bass heavy. I had found this location specifically looking for a restaurant with a fireplace on a very rain Portland evening, but the fireplace had no fire; understandable, but disappointing. Food was good to average, but in a place like Portland where you can throw a stone and hit 10 restaurants with amazing food, you need something more- and I had expected a much better atmosphere from the McMenamins brand. Plenty of other restaurants in the area with better atmosphere, food, and service for a similar price."

"We go to untried restaurants with neighbors every few weeks and read good reviews about Darsalam. We loved it as soon as we walked into the cozy spot full of momentos and photographs ! of Iraq. My only quibble is the price, which was surprisingly high, but then I realized that we'd had a bottle of wine plus enough food for us to each take home practically another meal. We will go again for certain, but order less food. The kabobs were exceptional, as was the beet salad, but one was plenty to split 4 ways, and we ordered 2. Lovely staff, cozy spot and great food!"

"This is a lovely restaurant with friendly , helpful servers. The pompano fish looked and tasted fabulous! The yogurt dessert was one of the best I have ever had. I had an excellent gin gimlet, delicately flavored with cardamom. Highly recommended, especially if you are looking for something different"

"I remember this place back in it 's heyday late '80 's early '90 's. It 's nothing like that now. Food was impressive, but wish it was more Wow! Service was nice, professional. If it was busier everything and everyone would probably had a better buzz. I think I came at an off time. It 's like that sometimes. We got the burger and fries we are on a best burger challenge for the past couple of years. So far, this is great but not in our top five. Fair enough to say, Nob Hill Tavern in NW PDX and The Garage in Vancouver take the too 2 spots Also tried the Nachos love bat food and that dish varies everywhere you go. This was ok, but I thought the toppings were a bit sparse further down the stack. Chips were best part of it. I think they make those themselves. Quite tasty, just enough salt, crispy and crunchy even under sauce. Best part of the Nachos. Worth the dish the full one, not the half dish portion. Just get extra toppings added. Wish they layered the cheese better through those tasty chips on that stack. I I 'll say the size of the full portion that stack of chips was beautiful. Just wish it oized more yumminess. Won 't go back there again right away as it 's not in my path. But next time I am in that area, I will poo in and this time sit at the bar to watch a game. Loved seeing the back patio open again!!!! Old PDX establishment, worth the trip but maybe during a busier time to get that old school feeling again like in the old days. This was the joint, I tell you! Worth the price range, but needs to get back to pumping that awesome vibe that made people want to be there, again."

"Skyline restaurant could probably be described as a west coast diner. The menu is extensive and laminated on the table, portions are huge and prices are reasonable. The chocolate milk shakes are thick and creamy with a good balance of syrup and ice cream. It was thick enough for a spoon but still capable of using a straw. The hamburgers come in 1/4 and 1/2 lb size and also as double patties for each. There are lots of variations to satisfy many tastes. The French fries are extra but well worth the $3,50 cost and plenty for two. Service was fast and friendly. There is a covered outdoor space for dining and 4-5 tables inside. The place was crowded with a good take out flow even at 3 in the afternoon on a Saturday. The only downside would be the bathrooms... not the cleanest I've ever seen. Skyline is definitely worth a stop... and come hungry."

I wish I could buy a bottle to get home and put everything on! you can seriously try this place, not go wrong with any of the objects. family owned and they can taste the love in every bite"

"This was our second visit to the portland seafood co! the eating was amazing, the drinks were delicious, it was relatiw calm and quiet, also for it the end of the night and the service was great! we had a slight problem with something that was lost, but it was restored and back to us within a few days and management was nothing but helpful and communication in support us in seeking our stuff. many thanks to fredrick, savannah and courtney for all their help and so friendly service! we really appreciate it! we will be back for certain, friendly date night spot for us "
