"This is my favourite buffet restaurant in this area, the food is a lot more tasty and flavoursome than any of the other cheap buffet places I have tried in Taipei. Standard pay by weight action, very friendly staff and customers no English spoken though, but they assured me it was all vegan. My rating is good' but seeing as it is better than fair but not very good I gave it 4 cows."

"Pretty good typical veggie buffet like you can find many in Taiwan, I wouldn't travel especially for this place but it has some nice options if you're around, many safe vegan options as long as you avoid fake meats, creamy dressings, etc, you can get some whole rice with mixed beans, various greens, sweet potato, etc"

"Actually, I was looking for Restaurant YouYou at the underground mall of Taipei Main Station. It was closed, but someone called me Xiū Yuán SùShí. It's easy to find: Walk over exit Z8. After a few steps you can turn right into a smaller road. This is where Xiū Yuán SùShí is located (trying to recognize it from the photo, there is no Western script everywhere . Xiū Yuán SùShí looks cheap and dirty. People have to share a table. The building and the furniture are old and worn. The open kitchen at the entrance is chaotic. When I entered, I got a large laminated English menu and the order (not a friendly request to go out the way and sit down. A local who helps me choose. He chose fake fish with steamed rice for me, with Chinese drug soup on the side. He also made me taste some of his meals (the soup from the leaves of the sweet potato was very good! . His selection was the culinary highlight of my trip! See before I visited the first-class vegan places that offer great food, but nothing new. They use familiar ingredients to make meals that I can get anywhere in Asia. Xiū Yuán SùShí offers authentic Taiwanese taste. The soup had mushrooms, roots and fruits in it I have never tasted. The mockfish had a unique taste and even the dressing on the vegetables was unique. Sitting with the locals also makes a more authentic experience here. As an additional special bonus, the food is very cheap."

"After a trip to the hot springs we were very pleasantly surprised to find this wonderful place not too far from our accommodation (and directly behind xinbeitou MRT station). the menu is in Chinese, Japanese and English and the menu was extensive. the fusion kitchen and the bursting with taste and filling, but not too heavy, which was beautiful. we had the falafel w/ homemade hummus that was raised and the vegan cheeseburger with fritten. the staff were really nice, the service was fast, the restaurant atmosphere was wonderful and clean and they accept international credit cards. prices are about what they would expect in beitou for non-breakfast 960 NTD/$32 usd for two burgers, falafel appetizers and two drinks. I'm looking forward to going back."
