"This is my unjustified favorite place for sushi. The second is Hide on Sawtelle. Hama is usually not very appreciated by the sushi going public. It is small and located in the heart of LA's J-town. It's not as flashy as Sasabune, Nozawa, R-23, among other star stains... but it's stuck everywhere. Your albacore sashimi is an absolute must. Their spicy tuna hand rolls are undoubtedly the best I ever had. I have no idea what they do differently – but the tuna tastes fresher, almost creamier. Just delicious. You need to ask the hand rollers to include avodados if this is your thing. Toro and yellow tail are also fantastic. If you are in J-Town and R-23 is clamped, give Hama an attempt."
