"As I come from the country where Poutine was invented, I like to try them wherever I go. We were highly surprised when I saw a poutine restaurant in France, so we decided to try it. The restaurant is of course a fast food, so you order at the counter, but they serve you at your table. They have a good variety of poutines, we tried the basic one. We went there with an open mind, willing to try something new. They advertise poutine as being made with fromage en grains (cheddar cheese curds). However what they serve is very mild cheese cut in cubes (not curds), that is different in taste, texture and sqeekiness than the famous Quebec 's freshly made cheddar curds. Unfortunately, the cheese is not tasty enough, compared with the rest of the poutine, so its taste quickly disappeaars as you eat. Their fries were way overcooked, the taste being far too roasted compared with the cheese. The sauce is much more BBQ ribs style, which was probably chosen that way to suit the taste of the local people. Unfortunately, the taste of that sauce is far too strong, and remained in our mouth for at least half an hour after we were finished eating. It is also too sweet for a poutine IMO. Interestingly, the taste that remained in our mouth was much closer to beans than poutine. Personel was friendly, and wanted to know whether we liked our meal. The restaurant was clean, and pretty much full, so it is probably liked by the local people. It is decorated with french canadian elements, and they play french canadian music. I am glad I tried it. Their restaurant works, so their recipe probably works for their local customers. But as far as I am concerned, this is an unbalanced-taste imitation of the french canadian poutine, which I am used to, so I was disappointed."
