When this level of attention to detail is displayed it instantly is such a pleasure to eat there. I will always come back here when we are up island. Cheers!"

"For those of you who love bacon - you need to go here. For those of us who do not eat pork - the menu choices were limited on the day I went here for lunch. All the specials involved bacon! Undecided about what to have as it was lunch and I wanted something light, I ordered French Onion soup. After a few spoonfuls of thinking it tasted like bacon (unusual for French onion) I discovered a few pieces of bacon - not impressed! I usually love this spot. Great atmosphere and views. And usually superb food - love their burger. My luncheon date had the seafood chowder - full of bacon. But at least it was mentioned on the menu and she enjoyed it. Will I return? Of course but will be very specific to the waitress about my pork phobia. The chef seems to think the world out there is bacon crazy."

"That's a good deal. The local Refillery offers a variety of vegan products and many products that are used in vegan recipes. Their original concept encouraged customers to bring their own containers to fill out their bulk. As the pandemic customers donate clean glasses and can receive their goods sanitary in jars at the store. They offer a wide selection and cheap prices."

"I love your location.i have,on several occasions questioned your position on short pouring. Your attitude seems to be ,if you don't like it...too bad. We have been regular patrons every Saturday for months but are growing tired of the I don't care attitude. You need to realize that you are not the only pub I the valley. The last several Saturdays have seen a reduction in customers. Maybe time for you to listen to your customers."

"It's slightly different with the new owners, no self serve hit sauce it is .35c per container after the 1st one. There is a woman who works here and he memory is impressive (like the man at George's! I had a large order for 11 people and she remembered it all in one go. Same food, same location added bonus with menu change is they have crunch wraps!! So good!!"

"Food was amazing! There was an around 15 minute wait to get a table, but was definitely worth it! I ordered the deluxe fresh fruit crepe and it looked unrealistic! It was the best breakfast I’ve ever had, service wasn’t fast or slow, but for the effort put into my meal it was definitely impressive."

"Saanich location: Raw vegan café except cooked rice in some dishes). I had the Glory Bowl $9.49), a large bowl brimming with green salad on a bed of rice, with red pepper, grated beet and carrot, sesame seeds and a tasty dressing. I took away a Classic Wrap, which provided two lunches later. Adding, for the Courtenay location, winter 2020 21: I’ve had several bowl meals, wraps and a smoothie wrap deal. I've enjoyed the walnut sausage bowl and “comfort” bowl, both tasty and satisfying, with rice and greens as the base. I love the delicious, thick, horseradish or cauliflower soup that they put on some of the warm bowl meals. One day was a chick’n pesto wrap Caesar lettuce greens) mango lime ginger zinger smoothie) special deal for $18 filling and good. There's a Breakfast Bar, $5, filled with seeds, cashews, goji berries, raisins and drizzled with chocolate rather hard but no doubt nutritious. The mini apple tarts are really good. I noticed that they sell Fatso peanut butter and some other food items and books. Updated from previous review on 2021 01 11"

"My benny was great. I would recommend them to anyone. My only beef was that the fruit on my plate had been cut a long time before. Maybe days. The fruit had dried out and the rind was shriveled. It makes me wonder that if the sides were sitting around drying out that long how food safe is there kitchen."
