"I was on an explore of my Dad's hometown and after a trek on the boardwalk in the mist and a bit of a hike in the cold, this place was perfect to settle into a nice bowl of soup and some mussels. The service...was very nice. I'd like to go back on an evening when there is music. If you are driving through or stopping by, drop into this place."

"Food was always good. They have really upped their game. They've expanded, and while you still order at the counter, they bring you your food. Both breakfast and lunc/dinner are great. The also have daily specials."

"Alma's food is really the best Mexican food I ever had. It makes everything from scratches, including their chips, salsa, guacamole and carrots and jalepenos that come with every meal. The value is incredible. I'm going to the 301 Special. It is $11 and includes a Tostada, Taco, Enchilada, Tamale or Chile Relleno, Beans and Rice! It is a lot of high quality Mexican food for a good price. Alma's beans are amazing! I don't know what she's in, but they have incredible taste. They taste a little nutty with a very light touch of sweetness. I call them cracking beans because they're addicted! I really don't know how this restaurant was not shown on countless food TV shows. The 301 Cafe is an absolute hidden jewel of Orange County!"
