"I have visited several times because the food is very good and reasonably priced, and the service is excellent. However, last week I visited when they first opened for the day at 11 am and the smell of bleach was overwhelming when I entered. I appreciate the fact that the staff is concerned about cleanliness, but the bleach smell was almost nauseating and I am not a person with a weak stomach or overly sensitive sense of smell. When my excellent fajitas arrived the smell of food almost cancelled the bleach smell. And I'm sure after the restaurant has been open for a while the cooking smell from the kitchen overpowers the bleach smell. In the future I will be returning later in the day when the only smell is the aroma of excellent Mexican food being prepared in the kitchen."

"We were visiting Greenville for the weekend. Someone recommended Tortas for authentic Mexican food. Wow. This restaurant had things on the menu that I have never seen in the Mexican restaurants from my home town. There were 9 of us. And all 9 of us enjoyed the food tremendously."

"With my sister in Taylors, SC, one day we drove through the old house of my aunt. Much to my surprise, El Matador Mexican Restaurant takes this room now. Well, of course I had to go there for dinner, and I'm so glad I left. It was a bit like entering the past, as I could remember where everything was once and at the same time how everything had changed. A so pleasant culinary experience! The food was delicious and our service was fantastic. With a group of people who ordered all different things, I could taste many dishes. Everything I tried, Tacos, Chimichangas, Steak, Enchiladas and Fajitas was delicious. Will definitely be revisited."
