"We arrived at around 5:40 PM on Wednesday and there was no wait. Small and cozy environ, and remarkable food. We liked the tonkotsu ramen with its rich flavored soup (though the added pork belly was not that tender), and judging from the beef tongue yakitori, we believe that all the skewers should be nice. The real showdown came with the CHAZUKE highly recommended! The fish is always on a seasonal rotation; the makerel offered that night was ume shiso flavored (if I'm correct) so tasty that reminded me of one extraordinary makerel sushi I once had in Kyoto. My only little complaint would be about the service there did not seem to be enough waiters/waitresses at that time. . . . IG: phootopia19"

"Arrived at the restaurant around 8pm on a Tues night, no wait at all. Ramen is good and flavorful as always, but they may have skimmed on the ramen amount? I'm not entirely sure since it's been awhile, but I do remember they used to put bonito flakes on top of the nojo fries. I would love to stay 6 feet apart from other tables (see picture) but what can I if I decided to dine in... Lol"

"So happy we found a pepper lunch dupppeeeee! It's the same concept except their menu is bigger. I got the udon with meat which the udon came out really well cooked which meant it was soggy which i think could be better. Service was great, i forgot to order one entree and she came out making sure we had the right amount of entrees. The rice and meat one was really good and crispy. We also got the calamari which was delicious and the crab wonton which i would literally buy 10000 of. So good! Give this place a try! They also have a second location in newark. The place is kind of small, and it's in a plaza so a lot of parking!"

"In searching for a good neighborhood sushi place, I think I have come close. It has all the elements that Ebisu did when I was a regular: Family owned, interesting items on the special board, first-name basis with customers, and chatty sushi chefs. However, the decor is odd… does it turn into a piano bar at some point of the night? The price is a bit stiff too… which places this place more on a 3.5 star than a 4. I hit close to $50.00 and I didn’t even have the giant clam it ran out . The hostess/daughter of the owner was sweet enough to give me some robata item on the house that looked like chicken or squid, until I realized was oysters quite good . The agedashi tofu was also very good I like it when restaurants prepare simple dishes to perfection . Fish was good, but once again, pricier than it should be. An interesting surprise: small pieces of lime on top of Kanpachi. I was a little turned off by the sight of it… “That’s not Japanese…” But the flavor very subtle hints of lime was amazing. It hit all the right notes in my mouth. Which reminds me of the popular comic book “Shota No Sushi”, that innovative ingredients can be used to create something not quite traditional, but still tasty."
