"Visitors and paying guests vomiting in the toilet and furious with ill treatment. Visitors left waiting and ended up leaving. Food was not fresh and overcooked. Traffic was noisy and fumes were overbearing. Guests being overcharged including ourselves. This all unfolded as we spent our brief time at this place. Despite a pleasant welcome and promise of traditional food, the resultant overcooked food consisting mainly of oven chips was a great shame. Dirty glasses and general sentiments especially after we were initially overcharged was unforgivable; a disgrace. Not the taste or representative culture of Mogan. Drawn into this place by an initially kind gesture turned into an embarrassing scenario. Passionate about responsible and decent leisure, travel, tourism and hospitality provision, I am absolutely irate to say the least. This kind of misfortune and such appalling situations happen from time-to-time and it is such a crying shame for El Eucalipto Gordo, Mogan, Gran Canaria. Maybe this is an example of locals rebelling against mass tourism, overtourism, and we were in the wrong place at the wrong time? Either way nobody should have experienced what we did, especially with a young family. Likewise locals should not have to deal with mismanaged tourism and the foul visitors and tourists that can be experienced by locals. Locals, visitors, guests, tourists should be more educated, mindful, ethical and diplomatic, which we found lacking with the way some communicated in both camps. Remember, unlike ourselves on this occasion, it really can be wise to check reviews. What a shame, shocked beyond belief what happened during our brief visit to El Eucalipto Gordo, never again, and we will be more vigilant as a result. Mogan and the region is not a reflection of this one unfortunate experience. We thought Mogan and surrounding area is beautiful with seemingly good honest, caring local people and community."
