"I like the place. A brasserie, with TV screens, smell of beer and hearty food. Nothing fancy. The beers are all excellent and homemade. Servers are kind and quick."

"I was trying to find a nicer place for a special celebration on a Monday-very difficult task! Then I remember this little gem, and Bingo-it was open!I was really happy that I made a table reservation, as the place was quickly packed!Unfortunately we got the table next to the kitchen entrance which made it a little noisy, but I guess, someone has to sit there. The positive side of it was the peak into the kitchen, which I really enjoy. Unfortunately, the menu on the website is not the one that they are offering at the moment, but we were not disappointed. The menu is very small, but there is a very good choice and there are also some specialities of the day. as starter I had a tartare de St Jaques with a vanilla salt-very special and delicious! (don't mind me, but I was very surprised, when the lady on the table next to me ordered the same and asked for lemon-the waitress brought it, but it must have killed the subtility of the salt). My main was the dish of the day-turbo with an oyster Mayonnaise-I never ate something similar, it was surprising and good. My desert was a special kind of fig (forgot the name) with a yoghurt ice cream -the ice-cream was delicious-creamy and not to sweet. the poached fig was good, but I didn't like the texture-the pips were very hard. But I think I just did the wrong choice. The service was very attentive and sweet. Only negative point is the kitchen smell-due to the space being very small and the kitchen door open, all our clothes smelled. but a night on the balcony fixed that. I will keep the place in mind if I need something special on a Monday. I noted Value for money average, as I think prices in Switzerland are generally to high."

"A few years ago, I had stopped there for lunch: at that time, I had praised the food but complained about the service. Unfortunately, service has not improved and this year’s dinner was much of a disappointment. I can’t fault the location: central, in the pedestrian zone, just a few steps from the castle. The large terrace is very inviting on a warm summer evening. I can’t fault the food: tasty classic food with generous portions. As starter the burrata salad was very good. As main course, I enjoyed the Cordon Bleu (with veal and Gruyère cheese): delicious, crispy without being greasy. As dessert I indulged myself with a homemade mousse au chocolat: rich and truly delicious. However, I do fault the service staff: The waiter and the waitress were admittedly very polite, but seemed to merely blow hot air. I arrived at 18:45 but the waitress took my order at 19:15: that’s half an hour waiting time! Another table that arrived later, could order before me. Not amused at all. During the dinner, the pace of the service was up and down alternating between very fast (e.g. to bring the starter) and excruciatingly slow (e.g. to get the dessert menu). I left at 21:15 having given up on ordering coffee, as the staff took ages to appear. All in all, very tasty food let down by disappointing service. Not sure I will come back."
