"She came to try some exotics. Something disappointed. My duck breast was chewing, a little dry. the Comote has not gelled. I had a bite of my friends Wildboar. This did not give the flavors of Wild Boar otherwise very tasteful. Loved the idea of the game, but pure...covered."

"Despite working in the TD centre, I have only recently made it to Bymark for lunch. I'm not sure what I was expecting but I have been pleasantly surprised with my visits on two occasions. The service was both pleasant and prompt. The food made it to the table in a very acceptable, even speedy amount of time. I also very much like the vibe in the lower portion of the restaurant, think low lighting with a warm glow in the room. On my first visit, I ordered the lobster grilled cheese sandwich and it was absolutely decadent and delicious. Large chunks of Atlantic lobster, melting gooey brie cheese, pancetta and a perfectly crisp and crunchy buttered brioche bread....just perfection. Be warned, this sandwich is very rich. My colleague had the veal schnitzel which was huge and served with greens and capers on top. It was also very good.Second visit, I decided to get what has been referred to as "the most expensive burger in Toronto". For $38 you get an 8oz burger topped with brie, shaved truffles and mushrooms. You can choose a side of fries, onion rings or greens and in this instance I went with the greens so I could get through the afternoon! So what can I say about the burger? Medium rare, juicy, we'll seasoned, melted brie (this can never be bad) and the permeating truffle...mmm worth every penny. I won't be making this a regular lunch by any means but if you want to splurge out, you will not be disappointed. My colleague had the fogo island tempura cod, which she said was also excellent. I'll have to get around to going for dinner here one day but if you are looking for a business lunch spot in the financial district, highly recommend Bymark."

"We frequented all the Boulud restaurents in NYC , the Bistro in upper east side always a favorite of ours ( Benoit on 55 st is the other superb Bistro in NYC ) We were excited a few years ago when Boulud opened in Toronto , the dinner that time was average and the decor kind of unimpressive . They underwent some innovation and when we visited Toronto recently , we went again . The decor much better , a softer touch , roomy then NYC . The menu is ok , can be more innovative , they offered the usual stuff , nothing out of the ordinary . No pigeons , no turbot , no , Dover sole , items we were looking for . May be a soufflé will light up,the desert menu ! As a whole still a pleasant and improved experience , but we expect more from Boulud ."

"I came here for dinner and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. My server looked very familiar and I was racking my brain trying to figure out where I know him from. It turns out we attended the same university and he was a few years older than me. What a small world. <br/ <br/ There really is a Jacques. My server's parents are from France and have owned this wonderful little hidden gem in Yorkville for 36 years. I have walked by several times, but have never noticed this place.  The restaurant has received many accolades from Zagat and Toronto Life Magazine and I can see why.<br/ <br/ My server informed me that the french onion soup is among the best in the city and I opted for the dish, which didn't disappoint. It was hearty, chock full of cheese, and very delicious. I was quite hungry and also ordered the steak. The medium New York sterling silver striploin was accompanied with green peppercorn sauce and scrumptious fried potatoes and vegetables. As per the recommendation from a fellow Yelper, dessert was a must. So, I asked my server to kindly brown bag the steak, as it was quite a large meal. For dessert, my server recommended the lemon tart and he described it as eating a cloud. It was so delicious and the lemon was not too overpowering, as so many lemon tarts can be. It was fluffy and moist and just incredible! He also brought me a sample of the caramelized apple tart with warm sauce, which was also extremely delightful! All desserts are made in house. <br/ <br/ I received wonderful service and it was nice to chat with a friendly former alumnus. I will definitely be returning for some authentic French food. The only thing that needs updating is the outdated decor, especially the wallpaper. Otherwise, the restaurant is very intimate and cozy. I highly recommend Jacques' Bistro du Park!"
