"SEKKA DINING, ST LEONARDS With huge pots of stock for their various ramen on offer simmering in their kitchen, you are immediately drawn to the incredible aromas wafting from the kitchen when you sit down. @sekkadining based in St Leonards is renowned for the Japanese food they serve their patrons, from delicious Ramen to Gyozas and other dishes. WAGYU BEEF TARTARE $25) The Wagyu Beef Tartare that @sekkadining serves is now one of my top favourite Beef Tartares that l have had so far. A fine dice of Wagyu-grade Beef is combined with diced Raw Onion, Nori Seaweed, and Sesame Seeds which are all dressed in a combination of Shichimi Togarashi, Truffle Paste, Mustard, and Wasabi which just adds so much flavour and sophistication to the already melt-in-the-mouth Wagyu-grade Beef. It is a definite surprise for any diner when they dig into this particular take on Wagyu Beef Tartare as underneath all that crispy garnish of Fried Enoki Mushrooms and Shredded Potato, there is a Raw Egg Yolk sitting on top of the Wagyu Beef Tartare. Mixing the Raw Egg Yolk into the Wagyu Beef Tartare offers creaminess to the finely diced Wagyu-grade Beef and allows the flavours to really meld together for that perfect bite. Honestly, the contrast of textures from the crispy Fried Enoki Mushrooms and Shredded Potato to the melt-in-your-mouth Wagyu Beef was just amazing to me. This Beef Tartare dish will be a memorable dish for me after having it for the first time at @sekkadining in St Leonards. PORK GYOZA $10) Any time l am at a Japanese restaurant, Gyozas are a must-order for me and the Pork Gyozas at @sekkadining are no exception. At my first bite into these Gyozas, there is a lovely textural contrast between the crispy Gyoza skin to the juicy Pork-based Filling. The House-made XO Sauce served with this Pork Gyoza was lovely as it offered a bit of kick and had a nice background of Soy Sauce-based flavour to it."
