"I am surprised the reviews are not higher here. we went out to lunch firstly at Ruxley Manor and was treated like we were sub human. perhaps read the review. Rotten service we walked out We phoned the club and asked if the public were allowed to come in for lunch. The lad on the end of the phone was very polite and had a nice ring to his happy voice and welcomed us to come in for lunch. We had not booked and easily parked, went into the cafe area and was greeted by Hannah immediately with a smile. She showed us to a table that was not cramped and was very clean. From my first impression of the place I wished that we had gone straight there. There was no pressure to order. We only had sandwiches and one of my cousins requested no cucumber in her sandwich No Problem!!! yippee you wouldnt get that at Ruxley!! The food all came in under 5 minutes and lovely golden crispy chips already seasoned. There was no pressure to finish, but Hannah was very attentive and I could see her keeping an eye out to she if she could help. All the staff were smiling and very friendly. Give Hanna a medal and ... the prices are far better and quality of what I saw at Ruxley is far better as well Well done Birchwood Park Shame on you Ruxley Manor"

"Daughter was up visiting from the West Country. To save cooking we decided to treat her to Sunday dinner at The Malt Shovel. x lamb dinners and x pork dinner ordered. The dinners came up with cauliflower cheese, cabbage and peas. There was,...on our plates already, yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, sausage in bacon, a small amount of roast carrot and a small amount of parsnip. Also gravy came in small gravy boats and more was supplies on request also crackling with the pork dinner. We had eaten Sunday dinner there before but was our Daughters first time. Did not have to ask if she enjoyed it as there was not even a trace of gravy left on her plate! First class food as always. The young staff are very attentive without being too obvious. The total price for drinks plus dinner was just over which I think is quite reasonable for this day and age. Will we be going back...of course."

"I don't usually bother with leaving negative reviews, but...We had high hopes for this restaurant as it looked cool and clean from outside. We went in today and ordered chicken shish kebabs and a quarter pounder with cheese. The girl took our order and...we said we wanted all the salad available. We didn't have to wait too long, got our order (although we had to ask for some chilli sauce as there was none in our package) and left. At home, when we opened the packaging, we discovered that we had no salad whatsoever included, only meat and lots of chips. And the worst thing was that everything was sooo tasteless, so bland, the chicken, the burger, everything, that I couldn't eat my food for nearly So no salad, but tasteless chicken and chips. My husband and my son said the same thing, so we all agreed that it was absolutely awful!Disgraceful, disgusting and expensive for that quality. And we are not one of the competitions, just ordinary customers, but this was one of the worst food experiences we've ever had!"
