"Always our go to place for breakfast when we are in San Diego. We like this location more than the other 3. The service here is always friendly and accommodating, and our food comes out fresh and in a timely manner. You can?t go wrong with the German Pancake. It?s pretty large, so me and hubby share, but we order some eggs and bacon al a carte to complete it. For our 4 yr old, we have ordered the one, two, three! or the chocolate chippies for my daughter, and whilethey are good, she doesn?t really eat anything other than the eggs. And you can?t go wrong with the nice fluffy eggs here. So now we just order her some type of egg breakfast. I like the coffee here, but my husband doesn?t. See you nexttime Richard!"

"This Starbucks #22277) has friendly service, however, it's hard to keep track of all the baristas since the faces are always changing. If Brandon manager) or Eric are around you're in luck since you're sure to receive exemplary care. If Elliot is behind the register ask him to sing you a song and he might look at you funny at first but usually obliges. The drinks are the usual fair and there are often samples ready for the taking while swiping your card when paying. Only 4 stars were given since the internet is terrible and gets worse in the afternoon for some reason no matter how many people are there. Also, there is just one speaker so the accoustics are uneven and the air conditioner is constantly being adjusted since it doesn't operate quite right either. The outside seating has recently been downgraded since the comfortable couches were taken away and only older tables and chairs are available. There is entertainment on Thursdays from 2-5 and is quite engaging. If you're serious about exotic and rare coffees ask Brandon for a coffee cupping since he is known for a talented palet and the coffee knowledge to go along with the tasting."

"My daughter and I really like the food in all Il Foraio restaurants that we have tried (Coronado, Santa Monica and Del Mar), but we have found the settings and service of the restaurant staff at the Del Mar site to be unpleasant. The employees we treated were pretentious, unpleasant and inefficient. We waited for the service until the last time we had eaten there, that we almost gave up and left. Our water and tea glasses were never filled again, and our salad plates were sitting on the table during the duck, although we asked to remove them. My daughter loves the French toast served on Sunday brunch, but if not for the Pasta Putanesca, and that there is a long drive to another Il Fornaio site, I wouldn't return."

"Our luncheon experience was a like a roller coaster ride, Tremendous ups and downs. It began with our initial entrance into the restaurant. I asked the hostess for change to a dollar for the parking meter. Begrudgingly, she went to the bar and exchanged my crisp $1 bill for 4 shiny quarters. We were then seated outside were the view and ambiance was fantastic. Bright sunshine, fresh air and the crashing of the surf was a fantastic setting for lunch. Here is were the rides became interesting, we ordered 2 hot teas, one came within a few minutes, the 2nd took almost ten minutes, the excuse was a shortage of teapots. We then ordered and it consisted of, an Oriental Chicken Salad, Steak Salad and a Fiesta Nachos appetizer. After watching two other tables receive their food (who ordered after us), our salads arrived, but NO nachos. The waiter forgot to put the order in the interim; we made multiple requests to have our hot water for tea refilled and our water glasses refilled. Some times it happened and other times it did not. After finishing the salads, which were outstanding, the nachos appetizer arrives. While the salads were delicious, the nachos were as bland as cardboard. Bottom line, great location, good food, however, our waiter should find another profession and the hostess should enroll in a peoples skills class at the community college."
