"Popped in for a quick pastry breakfast The croissants were nice and tasted fresh and warm, but the chocolate pastry was a little underwhelming."

"Have stayed at Best Western as a holiday maker over the past few years and had good dinners at Snappers on previous occassions, if staying for multiple nights would definitely recommend giving the place a try. On my most recent visit only used Snappers for...breakfast. Great selection of hot buffet and cold continental to choose from, with bread for toast etc and tea and coffee making options. Everything was fine food wise during this stay, but one morning which was a public holiday it looked like there had been staff shortages or they'd just been caught out, as a few tables were either not been cleared or had been cleared and not reset. Many tables without cutlery and a napkin. We just found a clean table and grabbed our own cutlery from the ones available near the buffet. I assume maybe a small tour group had been in maybe when the restaurant first opened for breakfast hence the half ready tables. Was not a bad experience at all and I would definitely stay at Best Western and use Snappers again just felt like the place was playing catch up !!."

"Restaurant was somewhat formal and elegant atmosphere. Me and by mother both had the duck breast, tartare and morton bay bug for entree, and donuts and creme brulee for desert, and a side of brussel sprouts. The food was generally good and well presented, the entree's were very tasty and so was the duck breast, though the meat could have been more tender. The creme brulee was exceptional, though the doughnuts were a let down, being overly-tough balls of dough with a distinct lack of the lemon curd, not particularly distinguishable from something you would get out of the supermarket bakery section. The brussel sprouts were also not particularly great, being simple brussel sprouts sitting in a bowl with a watery honey soup at the bottom, not affecting the flavour of the sprouts on the top but being overly sweet when it was in your spoon. Those items weren't what I'd consider restaurant quality. But besides that, the meal was quite tasty and left a good impression on us. Though the food was good, it serving sizes were quite small, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant if you have a big appetite, even after the 3 courses, sides and drinks we went to get takeaway afterwards. The restaurant had quite an extensive drink list, with a very good selection of wines, whiskies and cocktails, though it was on the expensive side - I would have like to try some of the Tasmanian single malts, but approaching $30 is a bit excessive considering some of the Lark whiskies are available at bars for less than $20. The wait staff were quite professional, and food was prompt, very good service in general. Overall, one of the better restaurants in town. I'd recommend anyone to try it, though due to the price it's not somewhere I'd eat regularly."

"Is this the most expensive cafe in Launceston? $ 7 for a roasted sandwich and $ 6 for their greatest coffee. Jesus. At least the place has a cool decor."
