"The staff here were friendly - although they did keep talking me down from the 'spicy' level. I'm not sure if they do that with everyone or if I particularly sounded like I couldn't take spicy food. I'm sorry to say the food was merely average and not the best Thai in Canberra by far. Pad Thai was particularly flavourless. It wasn't terrible, but given the many other Thai places around, I'll give this a miss next time."

"Hogs breath cafe is a restaurant that was started by a former US-Marine man who serves a lot of steak meal times. each steak is precooked for a series of hours to guarantee the perfection, every time a measure of production is asked. it is the most casual place to get out."

"I wanted to organise a delivery of Easter chocolates to our family in Canberra as we of course can’t get together this year. I found Hansel and Gretel Coffee House online and not only did they have a great range to choose from, but they...offered free same day delivery! By mid afternoon I had a photo of the bag of goodies being held by the smiling recipients! Fantastic service and so easy to arrange! We’ll have to visit when we are next in Canberra!"

"Wheat and Oats Colbee Court PHILLIP). Thin seating on stools outside like Manolo which is around the corner. I liked their oat milk coffee. The guy was very friendly. Mjj said this place is more expensive than Stand By Me. However I much preferred...the coffee here. They have an outdoor part outside but immediately behind that are some steep stairs. Might not be good for my dogs. They only open it in Summer and it is in the sun so might be too hot for me. I prefer the thin seating out the front as it was in shade. Facing same way as Manolo (same aspect so will never get sun out front but will get sun in their deck out back when it is opened in a few months. Quite a large indoor area. (M-F (Sat (Sun There is a grassy area just outside the shop which was handy for my dogs. Bring your own poo bags of course! There are public bins dotted around. There is also a public toilet in the court which was handy"

"Weeknight dinner with friends. Being January the place was vey quiet. Have been before and loved it; this visit did not disappoint either. The owner loves his home country and will chat about it if you're keen, and this was fascinating. The three of...us chose entrees and two mains to share, plus a fatoush salad. We then ordered an extra dish and finished with a little too much, but were able to take the leftovers home. Lamb kebabs were flavourful and very tender. Baba ghanoush outstanding (the hummous at the last visit was equally amazing).. hot puffy wholemeal flatbread excellent. Wine by the glass. Did not have dessert. Service faultless."

"Love this local little spot. Lovely cakes and coffee. Such gorgeous gifts too. Friendly service. Can be hard to get a seat at times, especially on a cold day when everyone is crammed inside. When I want something special I come here. No parking hassles like the big shopping centre and it supports locals. Do give it a try...it's so quaint. A delight."
