"This is an old house converted to a boutique hotel that also welcomes passing trade. We have visited here several times and have found the food and service to be excellent and the relaxed ambiance a welcome hideaway for a few hours. There is an air of auld decency in the sitting rooms that would normally have been upgraded but,conversely,benefit from lack of upgrading. We have not stayed here but have been advised by guests that the rooms are surprisingly Hi tech . Yes, for a comfortable and relaxing afternoon I would recommend Bellinter highly. There is a Spa for those interested."

"It is a beautifully decorated room, understated relaxing. The service was wonderful the lunch was divine. I would happily go back just to eat the Station House Smokies again. The location is stunning with well kept gardens, perfect for a little after lunch stroll"

"Chekhov's is the place to go for good food , and a good healthy breakfast to kick start the day. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. So if your looking for top standard food and friendly staff, Chekhov's is the place to call into. Lovely staff who make you feel very well come. Blair you are blessed with the hard working staff you have from the floor staff to the hard working chefs you have in the kitchen. Chevkhovs should have a five star rating. Great place to eat and dine."

"We arrived on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon, having booked the last sitting in The Cellar. We were warmly greeted and shown to our table which was in effect located in an alcove off the entrance walkway to the main cellar restaurant.It is a bit...like eating in a train carriage with continuous passing of people between the restaurant proper and the toilets.I suppose it could be used for private dining , but we did not like it, just looking at ourselves. Our starters arrived without delay.The fish smokies were delicious but the Butternut squash soup was poor.It looked great but was flat and flavourless and just died on the tongue. For mains I had the beef burger which was well dressed and along with the hand cut chips and green leaf salad made for a substantial meal. My companions ordered the breast of chicken which came cooked exactly as requested, and on a bed of mash.But that is it...no garnish of any kind.Very strange.When we mentioned that we would like some salad leaves as with the burger chef kindly sent out a bowl of honeyed carrots and some aubergines.Not what was wanted.We did not have deserts.We did enjoy a half bottle of Chilean Cabernet and a delicious bottle of the local Craft beer. We walked through the nearby Brabazon Restaurant on our way out and it seems a more attractive location, but opens at pm which was a little late for us. There is no doubt that the owners have achieved something really special here and should be acclaimed for doing so, and the wedding locations on the property seem wonderful.The wine list too is excellent with many wines by the glass. The food is reasonably priced too , but for us it was not Blue Book standard."

"If you want to treat yourself to luxury dining and accommodations, and Irish hospitality The Lawrence is place to stay. Coming home after retiring from a career in the movie industry in Los Angeles, Ca. Elizabeth and Aodan Coburn bought an old world pub, and built a luxury B&B and restaurant behind it. From the outside it looks like a traditional pub but delightful surprises wait within. The B&B and restaurant are new, tastefully decorated in a combination of modern, old world, and Hollywood during the mid 1900 's and the era of Lawrence of Arabia. The food is some of the best we 've had and the Irish Breakfast is definitely superior to any of the other breakfasts we had during our two week stay in Ireland. Elizabeth Coburn and staff will wrap you in some of most wonderful Irish hospitality you 'll experience. Athboy is located in the heart of the Boyne Valley less than 30 minutes from Newgrange, Hill of Tara, Trim Castle, Drogheda and other historical sites of Irish history. The Dublin Airport and Dublin are only 45 minutes. Unfortunately we discovered it at the end of our trip and only spent two nights. Although we discovered it by accident when there were no other rooms left in other Inns it became one of our best memories of Ireland and it 's people. It will definitely be at the top of our list for our next visit to Ireland!"
