"You know, after a while all that fine dining and so on gets a bit much, and all you want is a good plate of tasty grub! This is the place. We had a beef brochette and a duck brochettes, both of which were absolutely...delicious. Chose a carafe of house red perfectly acceptable, served straight from the BIB. Staff were great fun. Hits the spot! Very basic tables and chairs, some a bit close together for my liking and we got stuck next to a family with a baby from hell, but hey ho, service was fast, price was very good value. This place deserves its rating."

"We were staying near St Cyprien village for a week and had passed La Mamounia a number of times. Intrigued by what a Moroccan restaurant would be like, we checked it out on the Tripadvisor website. The place has only been open a short time and the few people who had reviewed it seemed to have widely differing views on their experiences, but out of interest we took the plunge and went there earlier this week. On entering, we were very pleasantly surprised by the decor and were met at the entrance by a chap who was very welcoming and pleasant and who showed us to a table which was just inside the building but adjoined a large courtyard and was separated from the external seating area only by a large opening, so it felt like we were outside. We looked at the menu and chose a number of starters including a selection of kemias (small bowls of very tasty cold dishes). For our main course three of us had a selection of tagines whilst I had a chicken dish which was a delicious vegetable 'stew' with a sizeable piece of chicken on the bone. The accompanying couscous came in an enormous cone-shaped mountain, which got the better of the four of us! We tried the house red which was very reasonably priced, so much so that we saw-off 2 litres in a short-time!We were definitely on the side of the chap who reviewed it very positively - perhaps the other reviewers were unlucky on the night, but all four of us had a very enjoyable evening. The quality of the food, the portion sizes and the ambience were great and we'd recommend people to try it. The clientele on that evening seemed largely to be French, but there were a good few of them and all of us seemed to be enjoying ourselves!"
