"If you are looking for a taste of genuine Scottish village life, the Village Hall in Cockburnspath is the place to be. All food is cooked up and served by friendly, knowledgable local villagers. And if you think it's just neeps and tatties or haggis on the menu, you'd be wrong. I indulged in a hearty bowl of lentil and bacon soup accompanied by a salad with fresh local vegetables (the joy of autumn eating). Unfortunatley due to an allergy I couldn't indulge in dessert. But it was hard. The offerings included chocolate cake, pie, scones, meringue and chocolate squares. And did I mention the prices? You can feast till you feel like Henry VIIIth. All for under £10 including a pot of tea or fresh coffee in a bodum. The only down to this is that it's only open on Wednesdays. So let the accents fill your ears, the view fill your eyes and the food fill your stomach. PS. Want to feel like a local? Tell them how much you are enjoying Copath!"

"We regularly use this coffee stop when out cycling. Lovely coffee and teas. The cakes and tray bake’s are fantastic There are more substantial meals and lite bites to tempt you as well It’s part of a Garden centre and building supplies centre but the café is set adjacent to this Plenty of storage for bicycles and you can view from the cafe/restaurant. Toilets have been newly updated. Very smart! Staff are always attentive and friendly Orders are taken at the table"

"What an amazing place and bunch of people. I was on a bike tour to visit my son at university in St Andrews. The weather had been quite bad for a number of days on the way North. Now returning South, I found this hotel by pure chance while cold and wet and caught off guard with the night drawing in. Having called to chance my luck on a last-minute stay, I was greeted by Paul and his team who kindly arranged for the kitchen to stay open late so I could get some hot food inside me. The attention to detail of both the rooms and the staff was phenomenal, resulting in my asking if I could stay another day. Within a short period, they managed to fit me in, resulting in a much needed, welcomed, warm and friendly break. This isn't an area of the UK that I visit often. However, after such a wonderful stay, I am keen to return to the area with my better half, so she too may experience the wonderful service and friendly atmosphere of this Scottish Borders hidden gem. Thank you!"

"A friendly country pub and hotel with restaurant and dog friendly bar. We had a generous roast beef Sunday lunch, but sadly no horseradish sauce, followed by a nice homemade raspberry cheesecake. A good selection of beers plus guest beer, also alcohol free beer and cider available."

"We had breakfast here on our last day in Eyemouth and it was lovely, we got border tart to take home and it was absolutely wonderful-and I'm an expert on it! The two ladies were very friendly, I would recommend this cafe to anyone."
