"Have not tried anything else off the menu but they definetly have an excellent breakfast sandwitch. Egg, cheese and a healthy serving of meat. Can't go wrong."

"Googled Indian Restaurants as we crossed the border near Fort Erie and chose this one due to its location and rating. Not what you would expect from your usual Indian restaurant. More like a bar, no atmosphere, no music, looked like it probably caters to the locals and the Indian cuisine is an aside to their main focus. Indian motorcycle picture on the wall and Indian motorcycle logoed dinner plates make no sense for an East Indian Restaurant? Chicken chunks were a little chewy, pre-cooked/prepped before hand? Menu options are the most expensive we have ever seen for an Indian meal, $18 for an entrée, $8 for Bhajees! Although the bhajees were some of the best we've ever had! Too much rice and quite a small portioned entrée but we did enjoy our meal and the fact that it came with rice, bread, salad choices. Service was painfully slow even though we were the only ones there throughout our entire visit. It took the owner's daughter(?) to notice we had been standing, waiting at the cash register to pay for several minutes. Patio looks amazing and location is amazing as well, right next to the Welland Canal and historic Allanburg Bridge. Before leaving we were able to watch a ship passing while the bridge was raised. Not an authentic Indian Restaurant experience and food quality was only average. Considering the high ratings it must be because of a lack of choice in the area and I'm sure I would feel the same way if I lived nearby.P.S. we seek out Indian Restaurants everywhere we go. If you want an authentic experience try Coriander Kitchen in Orangeville, Indian Village in Ancaster or Tandoori Knight in Woodstock."

"We stayed overnight in the King room#1 and had the meals included option. The room was clean and comfortable with good sitting for 2. Arrival was fine except to note that signs are lacking and the gate is easy to miss in the dark. We...had no issue as we were there before. Check-in was easy (pre-booked) and staff were warm and friendly. Room was ready and we settled in. Weather was unpleasant so we didn’t go hiking as planned but sat in room talking and reading. Couple of small items like having to ask for extra coffee and wine glasses cost the 5th star. Supper went very well. My wife has the scallop starter and I had the lobster-shrimp pate. Both were very good. Mains of the salmon dish and the rack of lamb (very generous serving) were also very good. Service and very good and very friendly. Again small comment that the second and younger server had his shirt untucked and a departed couple’s table took a long time to clear. Desert was cheese plate for both of us. Nice selection of cheeses and toast (homemade) and fruit made a very nice end to the meal. Wine list is extensive and a bit on the expensive side but. Some wine is available by the glass the there is an excellent Malbec for $39-very good deal. Breakfast was also very good except to note that the re-constituted grapefruit juice was a bit sweet and better when mixed with my orange juice. We both had the smoked salmon and Inn made bagels with a nice fruit bowl. All in all very good and with a few changes would be 5 star. Well worth the trip to St. Mary’s either on its own or as a base for Stratford plays."

"Usually really enjoy this location. Ate a teen burger and poutine today and felt sick immediately after. I threw up in their bathroom for about 10 minutes and continued to get sick in their trash can out front. None of the staff cared comp my meal LET ALONE check on me."

"My husband and I went here for Valentines Dinner. It was a set meal, with choices in each course. The food choices were well thought out and had items you'd expect for a special meal. I enjoyed the grilled caesar salad, shrimp and lobster bisque, and a main entree of salmon and tiger prawns. My husband's choices were nearly identical to mine and he highly enjoyed this meal, too. By the time we had eaten the dessert and sipped a cup of tea, we both agreed that there was no room for even a mint! We tend to go to Larters for special occasions and enjoy the dining room, the service and the food each time."
