"Food was good but service was really poor. The main was brought before we received the starters and after waiting forever we had to get up to the bar to get desert cards and nobody even came down to take our desert orders. So while food was 4/5, service was 0 and cleanliness maybe okay but in the entrance had to dig your way through the flies"

"Worst dining experience ever. We should have known by the unpleasant smell and dirty table cloths upon entering Dolly’s, but we were starving and in a hurry and just wanted a quick bite to eat. Once eventually seated, we were handed grubby makeshift menus 10 minutes later. We had waited over an hour from ordering food to being served, and as we didn’t have all day, I said to the unfriendly and rude male manager who spoke down to us and dismissed the fact we had waited over an hour for our food. Customers who came in after us were served before us. We ordered drinks which arrived at the start of our long wait, and by the time our greasy food arrived an hour later we had them drunk. The manager promised us free drinks due to waiting for so long for our food. There were 3 of us and he brought down 2 drinks. We also ended up paying for them therefore they were not free. At this point we felt so awkward and unwelcome that we decided to hand over the cash and leave as they don’t take card under £10. Manager cannot count, keep promises or display basic manners. I would suggest he attend a course to learn some general customer service skills. I don’t normally write bad reviews as I want local businesses to thrive, however this place is an absolute shambles. Would not recommend to your worst enemy."

"Ate here with friends last weekend for a change. When we arrived the place was almost empty at peak time on a Saturday nite. Waiting staff were pleasant and took our order fairly quickly. Starters arrived and were very tasty. I ordered the Caesar salad and it was lovely apart from the mass of black olives mixed through it. The biggest disappointment came with the main course and things went downhill from there. All ordered steaks and I asked for mine cooked medium. They arrived and we studied the rare presentation. Served with mushrooms and onions its not the normal sautéed variety and steak was sitting in the most vile tasting brown sludge resembling purdy pudding and reaked of cinnamon. I cut into the steak to discover it was raw and stone cold inside. Unimpressed I sent it back and asked for my steak medium again. After a few minutes the waitress returned with my steak and a new portion of chips which was very kind. Again I cut into the middle of the steak and surprise surprise it was also raw and cold. At this stage I got fed up and ate the chips and peppered sauce. I didn 't want to send it back again but my husband insisted it be sent back and cooked properly seeing as we were paying for it. The waitress apologised again and took the plate away to the kitchen. Literally 2 mins later she returned and I knew it couldn 't have been cooked. When I turned it over it had literally been thrown onto the grill and browned over. It had the most horrible taste. Didn 't even try the desert as I just wanted to go home. So disappointing for a steakhouse . Won 't be returning."
