"I went here with my family of 5. We reserved a table in the non-smoking section, but might as well have reserved in the smoking section since there is an open connection between the two. The decoration of the restaurant is typical Austrian, wich is a bit too bright for my taste. The food was very good and the portions huge. The kids had the Brener Schnitzel, the spare-ribs and the shrimp-spiess. It was all tasteful. My wife had the fish wich was great. I had the Lamb-Spiess wich was excellent. After diner we were treated to coockies. We finished with tea, milkshakes and ice-cream. All together a good food experience, with friendly staff at a reasonable price."

"I have stayed at the Resterhohe 3 years in a row now, most recently last weekend, and what started out as an already great guesthouse, has gotten and keeps getting better. It is ski in ski out, one has to take a lift, then ski...down to the entrance, but they can also come and get you in a ski doo, either from the top or the bottom of the lift. I would say, this isn't luxury accommodation, the regular rooms have cozy bunk beds (built into the wall, not rickety) and they are decorated fairly traditionally too. There are also 2 apartments, which are much more modern, clad mostly in untreated pine. These are en suite, the other rooms have a sink, but there are plenty of individual shower rooms with waterfall shower heads and enough hot water for everyone (as long as one doesn't spend an hour in the shower). Now, for the food. It is hearty Austrian fare, tastes amazing, and the owner put a great deal of care and attention into using locally sourced, free range, organic, high quality ingredients, and it shows. The menu itself is chock full of Austrian specialties with consideration for vegetarians and vegans also. It is also incredible value for money, as the price (per person, not room) includes 3 meals a generous breakfast spread, afternoon snack (soups, stews, chilli) and a huge dinner. They have also just installed a hottub and a sauna, and they have a gym onsite too. It is not situated super close to Kitzbuhel (30 min bus or 15 min car ride) but one can ski to the main Kitzbuhel area in about 1.5 when travelling at a reasonably fast pace. So yes, this place is amazing, definitely a hidden gem, go check it out!"
