"For me this is The benchmark for all chippies and it's a tough standard to match. Fish suppers here are just magic, the chips are tasty, not greasy, the batter is more like tempura batter, so light and thin and crispy and the fish is always fresh and delicious. I've heard many folk travel from neighbouring towns to come to the Star, no wonder. Good work guys!"

"I love Japanese food and have gone through the list of Japanese restaurants in the town and this has now jumped to first place. Heading out to Partick is more of a trek for me but it's one I'll gladly make to eat here again....Firstly it is simply but tastefully decorated. We were sharing a bench with another couple but we felt as though we weren't really because of the layout of the seats so you don't feel as though you are squashed up together. The staff were first class and we had our year old with us and she explained that we could have anything off of the lunch time mains for him and it would be a children's portion and would be charged at Absolute fine with me as the little one loves chicken katsu curry. Between the of us we ordered three chicken katsu curries, a chicken satay starter, chicken kushiyaki, and chicken tempura. Everything was superb, every single dish was first class but a special shout out has to go to the chicken tempura. We asked for everything to come at the one time and this came last after a slight wait which was fine as we were tucking in to the rest of the food and when it came out wow! Great size portion for us all to share and we were wondering how we were going to fit it all in after scoffing the rest of the wonderful food but when we started eating it it was just so light that we wolfed it down without too much effort. Light and crispy, it was full of flavour and not the least bit greasy. The only thing we did was instead of using the tempura dipping sauce we used the teriyaki sauce that came with the kushiyaki as that was our preference. Honestly can't fault either the food or the staff. If you're in the city centre just jump on the train to Partick and give this gem a go, you won't be disappointed."

"I have eaten in this Restraunt many times. The staff are more than happy to answer questions. The food is perfect. The food arrives very quickly and is excellently presented. I loved my Finnan haddie fish cakes and my chocolate brownie was delicous. I strongly reccomed this reastraunt"

"Used to love coming here when we lived In the west end but unfortunately we were seriously overcharged on this visit. Ordered 2 orange juices, one sparkling water, one Fanta, (no alcohol) one chicken satay starter, one chicken chow mien starter, one Creamy curry chicken main, one sea bass main, one coconut rice side, one sticky rice side and the bill came to £95.70!!! To top it off the chicken satay and chow mien were so processed we couldn’t eat them but that may be due to personal preference. The sea bass was lovely. Very well cooked and is expensive to order anywhere but this still didn’t justify the cost. I fully understand that costs have gone up recently and that affects prices but we were literally in the restaurant 45mins in total. Used to be a favourite but sad to say we won’t be back."

"I have a takeaway from the dedicated vegan menu. Didn't feel like the freshest sushi ever, but most vegan sushi gets a thumb of me independent. Not bad, but I had much better, and Glasgow has some great vegan spots."

"Bento boxes are wonderful and a good offer for the price. very large. takoyaki and tempura were also beautiful. they get a lot for what they pay and good quality too. childish and attentive staff. I was surprised how quiet it was if they wanted a bentobox, I would recommend here. it is a very nice meal (at 12/05/22)"
