"I would never pay to go here but a free bee is a free bee. At $150 a head for ten , it doesn't stack up when a tee bone steak is nearly fifty bucks and last time so overly salted. Throw in another twelve...dollars for a salad and it isnt cheap nor does it have the wow factor which you would expect. I simply just do not get it with food that our party found to be average. The service is about the best I have encounteted with a ten pax group but thank God someone else is paying again. Ambience is fantastic but I always get back to the tucker."

"For me En Izkaya is superior to Sake Melbourne, more affordable and the food is amazing. The menu changes so you never get bored, specials menu is just as exciting. Great wine, service is sublime and the food delicious!"

"A friendly and casual vegan restaurant with exceptionally tasty food. Customers were to help themselves with water, serviettes and cutleries. Dishes were served very generously. My favourite dish was Nutty rice, which was perfectly cooked vegetables on rice in homemade coconut flavoured satay sauce scattered...with crunchy peanuts. The shinny Japanese fried rice came with bean curds and mixed vegetables and it was not a bit oily at all. We all have enjoyed all the dishes that we ordered on the night. Good value for money too."

"I went here with my mother for dinner, she had the terryaki salmon which was served with vegetables, I had salmon sashimi and pork gyoza, all of which were good, unnoteworthy dishes. The owner sat in the corner drinking wine and chatting to the waitress (who was the only one working on the floor) and occasionally barked an order in Japanese at her. She had no situational awareness and we sat with empty drinks while we finished our meals, my mother wanted a mineral water and I another Sake but that would have required uncomfortably getting up out of my seat, walking over to the waitress and interupting her conversation that by this stage had lasted at least 15 mins.I haven't seen this sort of thing in my life, eventually we had to interupt her to ask for the bill as we had to leave. The owner then proceeded to distastefully stare at us as we had requested service thus spoiling his enlivened conversation. One of the most unprofessional displays of trying to run a restaurant I have ever seen."

"We went here on a Saturday night with a group of friends; all of our friends were regulars here and mentioned they keep coming here for quality sushi - I don't blame them - the sushi was awesome!The restaurant setting itself was average, the wait staff were ok, one of the dishes was significantly delayed, but it came out after we followed up twice. Overall, it's a place I recommend and I look forward to visiting soon."

"The food at Sozai is consistently good without being particularly adventurous; you will get good standard Japanese food. The service is erratic though not the staff as such who are nice and polite, but rather it is almost impossible to have your meals arrive at the same time. At a recent visit my entree and main came which I ended up eating all at once before my husband even got his entree and that we had to ask for several times before it came (it was sushi). Similar delays happen at each visit so from now on we will only order entree and ask it come at same time before we even consider ordering main. Atmosphere is casual and relaxed but don’t sit near the door as it does a roaring take away trade. Really nice food but can be incredibly frustrating!"
