"Sushi places live or die based on how the rice is prepared. The fish plays a secondary role to the rice itself. This place knows how to prepare sushi rice and I would think it is a closely guarded family secret. The ginger does not appear to be from a mass market supplier. It has faint green edges in some places. Wasabi is pungent almost hand ground. To be located in Pasadena of all places, what a surprise. Nice local place for credible sushi."

"We ordered Angus steak, which was juicy and good. The soup was so so, which tasted like instant soup, and the waitress took it away when it's half finished, too quick for me to keep it. The salad was ok, and the fried rice was good, though not in its best condition where each rice piece was solid and firm. But the steak was good, and the chef was good, having showcased his skills at the cooking stand."

"It’s my second time in this sushi restaurant. The service started out slow on a busy Friday night but it quickly improved.We loved the seaweed salad, grilled shishito peppers and soft shell crab appetizer. The sashimi, salmon lover roll and Cynthia roll were fresh and nicely prepared. I asked for grilled salmon without teriyaki sauce and it came out nice. The dinner was satisfying."

"This is by far one of my favorite places to eat in Los Angeles, and it is definitely my number one place for brunch. It is also a fact that it is the only place in the entire Los Angeles metropolitan area that makes and serves my favorite drink in the world, the elusive Ramos gin fizz. This is one of the most hated drinks for bartenders because of how complex and difficult it is to make, and yet this place has it in their menu. The fact that they offer this cocktail when nobody else in the city will just shows their dedication to excellence. When it comes to customer service every time I walk in I am greeted by name like if I was an old friend. They have never let me down."
