"Situated in Southgate Food Court, you will find this eatery. There is a good selection of pre-made and made-to-order Thai food including the usual favourites such as Tom Yum. The lunch deals are really good value. The food was fresh and tasty."

"On the quest for a good meal at Chadstone Shopping Centre Thailander lured me in with their fantastic sounding menu and impeccably presented meals. I ordered two meals one tossed from the wok and one stir fried noodles with two satay chicken skewers totalling about $29-. As I patiently waited at the servers window my experience went rapidly downhill from here. After watching numerous people being served and meals being prepared at a steady rate I looked at my watch and wondered where my meal was... 10 minutes had elapsed and I perked up with excitement when I saw part of the order placed on a tray. As I waited for the rest of the order I watched multiple other orders sit in the service window for extended periods of time while the rest of the docket was prepared... Meanwhile single meal orders flew out the window at a rapid rate. It was then that I noticed checks ordered twenty minutes after my order were being processed ahead of mine while half my order stood in the window getting cold. Really? After waiting 20 minutes for my order and watching the docket debacle coming from the kitchen I finally mentioned this to a female staff member and was told "that's just the way the chef cooks things". After explaining the issue to another staff member to their credit they re cooked the cold order and had the whole meal prepared in under a few minutes. As a Thai food fan my expectations were high. The meal was well presented yet failed to deliver not only an authentic Thai taste but one with actual flavour. The meal was palatable, scant on beef, Thai basil and chilli. The saviour of the whole meal was the satay chicken skewers which were delicious and perfectly cooked. Overall I doubt that I would reorder.Dear Thailander,If a customer orders multiple meals on a check it should ALL be sent out at the same time!! Food should NOT be left sitting in the window for the rest of the order particularly with other customers leaning across it to pick up their orders. Speed also does not equal quality. Readjust your processes and consider food safety."

"Surprised by the poor reviews below considering this one of the best Thai meals I have ever eaten! <br/ <br/ We did end up over ordering (a little annoyed with the waitress as I asked if we had ordered too much and her indication was 'no ' but mainly due to the fact the portions are very generous. 5 people did not need 3 rice (twice as big as most restaurants and ordered one too many mains (although we still ate it! . <br/ <br/ Starters: Chicken wings simple with fiery chilli sauce: Chicken satay delightful with light, just cooked chicken: diced duck lab ped was the only disappointment as it was tasty herb/spice wise but could not recognise the duck.<br/ <br/ Mains: Beef cheek divine as was the rib eye: mushrooms beautiful, Chinese broccoli scrumptious, chicken noodles tasty although provided the right level of blandness considering all the other tastes going on!<br/ <br/ And to cap it all, Friday is Happy Hour form 7 10pm!! Bottles of wine for $25/30! Cocktails half price.<br/ <br/ The place itself is small and a little cramped result is you either sit at the bar or on stools at tables. So can get a little uncomfortable if you 're ploughing through so much fabulous food.<br/ <br/ 3rd visit in May 2018 not quite up to the standard of the previous two visits: son in law eggs a touch on the bland side (although chicken satay still excellent . Stir fried chicken a tad too salty. But still large portions!"

"I live nearby so I hit the spot fairly frequently. The food is consistently fast, beautiful, and delicious. Coffee isn't necessarily my jam but I always think it's pretty good. The service is insanely friendly."

"Only one option on menu that was a proper dinner - everything else were snacks. Staff really nice and food incredibly spice. Nice thai curry as well. Has more than boring thai beers as well."

"Ordered from Thai 29 tonight via Uber eats. Prompt delivery but the chicken salad that I requested to be mild was so spicy with chilli and over powering with fish sauce it was inedible. So disappointed, what a waste of money. If a customer selects the Mild option then please make the food mild."
