"My bf and I have been looking for a good Thai food spot since the departure to hb. we are great Thai fans, honestly, if we find the right place we would probably eat there once a week. I'm seriously addicted! So I am happy to say that my experience in the mai thai restaurant was not disappointed! my bf and I dimmed here for the first time yesterday. they were not too busy because it was a Sunday afternoon that was nice. it looked like there was only one server that worked anyway, so it's good that they were not packed. the restaurant is located in an older strip-mall that has plenty of parking, so no problem will be. the restaurant looks super dark from the outside, honestly I asked if they were even open when we arrived. but do not let them flash from their tinted windows and the barely noticeable open sign. they are open! when we entered, they had a sign in the front to advise customers to wait to take place. they wait! there was one customer who tried to sit after us, and they left him back and wait in the line. So they take the signs seriously. we sat less than a few minutes from entering, but there was no waiting time in the round. the restaurant has a very dark atmosphere, somehow fits the way it looks from the outside. the black padded seats, mirrored walls and the dimming lighting make me think that it was a hookah lounge or something earlier. I liked it, very different. eating is obviously the main point of this review, so I will continue. we ordered the following: cheese wonton $8.75), Thai fried rice $12.75), pad thai $13.75, panang curry $13.75) and a big Thai tee to drink $6). I'm not sure we have the Crab-Rangoon or the Cheese-Solton. I know my bf ordered the Crab-Klanoon, but when it was released, it looked like the only filling of the cream cheese, so I suppose we have the cheese-cooked tones. either that or its filling has very little crawling in it. also the sweet and acidic sauce that came with it was a little watered and thin. that would be my only complaint. Apart from that, everything else was delicious! the fried rice was perfectly cooked, pad thai had exactly the right amount of fish sauce in it, so it did not taste too fishy like some other places we tried. the panang was hot and tasty! very sharp, but we have asked for medium so that we have definitiw that! they have thai tee is amazing to the right ratio of tee to cream so that it is not too sweet or tee like. the waiting time for everything was also quite good. from the time when we sat and ordered until our food arrived, was probably in the span of about 10 minutes. not bad. I'll be back in the future! I'm glad to have found a good Thai spot in the oc."

"I loved the green tea doughnut. they also had birthday cakes and salted caramel for the vegan options. the vegan donuts only came in cakes. no huge vegan options. we also tried to order cappuccino, but the cash girl went past the other and whispered: “Do they know how to make cappuccinos?” then told us they have no cappuccinos. So we asked if they have mandible or soy milk for hot coffee and they seemed very confused and on the drink caffeine that had just regularly milk, we just bought nitrocold. a drink empties the nitrotank and the girls couldn't change it. I'm not upset with the girls. they were great, but whoever owns or leads this place should train them a little better before they are left alone. Maybe we just came when the manager made a fast bank run. Despite the difficultness, I would go back when I'm back on this one. hopefully they will get some plant-based milk options if not, they are right next to the coffee bean."
