"This restaurant is just behind the excellent Hotel Novotel Karlsruhe City. Today on Easter Sunday I decided to go there for lunch and I really wished I hadn't.The place was probably really nice when it first opened but is definitely run-down now. I asked the rather surly waiter for a shrimp cocktail to start, they didn't have it, strange for an Italian restaurant not to have that and even more strange when I asked for mozzarella di bufala instead and was told that they only had normal mozzarella.I settled for salmon carpaccio which was perfectly fine even if the slices of salmon were mere slivers, it's a good thing I wasn't too hungry. I'd had a glass of prosecco before that and wanted a glass of wine which the waiter brought fairly promptly.I then had the most disgusting penne all'amatriciana I've ever had, just a soggy mess instead of al dente which surprised me as the owner is Italian. I wanted another glass of wine and it seemed like the waiter was bothered I was disturbing him as the restaurant was filling up and he was running all over the place.A friend of mine arrived to sit with me and was served promptly as by this time a man who seemed like the owner was lending the waiter a hand.After seeing the dessert on a neighbouring table I decided to pass.You have to go to the till to pay on the way out but there's nowhere to stand so you keep getting knocked off your feet by the other waiter as you're in the way while you wait for the surly one to give you the bill. And talking about the bill, I was just about to put my PIN number in the machine when I noticed that it wasn't my bill and that the waiter had given me someone else's bill for more than double the amount. That obviously annoyed him as when he handed over my receipt he didn't even bother saying thankyou or goodbye.I really wished I'd just stayed in the hotel and eaten my Easter eggs. This evening for sure I'm having dinner in the hotel restaurant which is really nice."

"To make a review here, I'm getting it hard. Okay, it's a classic pizzeria mrs, that's just the Italian. I had pizza and that was okay. I had noodles with visitors, they were all right. Staff very friendly. It's a middle class pizza. Let's eat something in the evening."

"Last year the pawn has changed in the Swedish language. the Italian family that the restaurant has previously operated is now in borsalino in durlach. under the new operator, this has fallen significantly before location. pizza is still ok, but the loving Italian cuisine from earlier (at the normal pizzeria level there is no more. the map is still Italian, but not well cooked. (also the environment has suffered, as always a table of training pants carrying strong young men is occupied, which seem to be good buddy of wet. for us very bad, because it was too easy to walk, but after three we no longer go."

"This is a small restaurant with an interesting and varied interior. Tables are situated on three different floor tiers, with varying degrees of privacy. The host is friendly and engaging. In the three months I lived in Karlsruhe I visited L'incontro several times. The menu...is expansive with various pizzas, risotto, fish (particularly mussels) and pasta with homemade pasta noodles. The wine list is short, but features good quality wines. Unlike in America where wine by the glass is usually bad, in Germany one can expect decent table wine by the glass. All the meals I had were well prepared and tasty and the tiramisu is really excellent but very large. It's enough for two people and tastes best with their freshly brewed espresso."
